Note: The brush roll requires some user maintenence. Please see user manual for additional information.

Convenient Dustbin  Design
The M80 Pro's dustbin is located on the top of the vacuum, instead of the back, to prevent accidental spillage when you empty it. We've added a handle to make it easy to carry and made it water resistant so it's easy to clean.

We've managed to enlarge the dustbin to 500 ml to support longer, more comprehensive cleaning, while keeping the M80 Pro at a compact 3 inches tall so it can clean those hard-to-reach places.

So far so good ...great price and works .

So far so good ...great price and works .
Did a little research on these and decided there is no way I am spending $350 to $600 on one of these..so I saw this one was on amazon deal of the day and got it for $199 . I have used it one time so far and here are my observations.....Well constructed , its pretty heavy and about the size of a medium pizza - so it wont be able to go through most wooden chairs legs as its too wide , its very intuitive on how to use it and hardly any assembly is required taking it out of the box etc ......out of the box I put it on"Auto" mode and it began scampering around my house. It spent 1:15 total vacuuming my house on the low suction power setting the first time and docked itself successfully in the charger when it finished . It went under my beds which is a blessing as my beds are VERY difficult to move due to their heaviness etc . It got stuck twice ....once it wrapped my stereo cords around one of the edge rotary brushes - it beeps to let you know when its stuck .I have since moved the stereo cords where it cant happen again ..then about 20 minutes later it got stuck again under my bed where it wedge itself between a caster and the wall. So I moved the bed to give it a little more room so it cant happen again . He made it in almost every room and space surprisingly with its tremendous random vacuuming pattern . I vacuum once a week at least with a great DYSON ball and mop occasionally and was absolutely shocked that the "bin" was absolutely full when it finished vacuuming . I was almost embarrassed . I think most of the debris (lint like dust) came from under the beds . See attached pic. Bottom line - you need to rearrange your house a little to give him a fair chance at not getting stuck , he handled throw rugs and floor to tile transitions with no problems , docked himself successfully and did a great job first time out. Will update as time goes on and let everyone know how the mop feature works when I try it ......so far so good ... :)UPDATE 7-28-17 Still amazed at what this picks up daily even though you vacuumed the day before. Yesterday he got stuck on a shag like area rug in my bathroom and shut himself down for rescue . Other times he has handled those same area rugs with no issues . People refer to this as "rescuing" these vacs . Last night for the first time he entered my walk in shower . It has about a 1.5 " ledge that strangely he detected the other day and backed up so he wouldn't fall inside the shower by mistake - but yesterday he fell in and obviously was never able to exit . So since I didnt see or hear him for awhile I went looking for him and he was roaming around the shower basin not able to exit . Additionally I set him up to vacuum at 630 am daily ...last night at 3 am no less aaargggh he started vacuuming ?????? Not happy he woke me up in the middle of the night . I will try to revisit the remote control scheduling today and see if it was my fault - but honestly I don't think it was . Still VERY impressed with cleaning power and effectiveness of this unit . Mine when not stuck in need of rescue - has successfully navigated and returned to its charging base and docked itself . I think you need to be realistic about area rugs and cords you have scattered on your floors as those appear to be the menaces to all these vacuums in general regardless of brand or price . You need to do some furniture and cord rearranging and possibly pull up those shag type rugs to be realistic in what these bots can do . Still loving it regardless of minor imperfections .Update 8-3-17 Still amazes me what it picks up daily ...I have successfully programmed it to vacuum once a day automatically - it starts one hr before I get home so when I walk in the door its vacuuming my house already for an hr so I can rescue it if need be etc. Finding its way back to the charging base has been a 50 50 crapshoot ...I think I need to locate the base more centrally to where it vacuums . I have the charging / docking base out of the way tucked in a corner so people dont knock or kick it accidently so I think it has a hard time finding it . If you have kids you have to make sure they don't leave anything on the floor daily that can get sucked up etc ...so far it has ingested a usb charge cable they left on the floor that got wrapped around the agitator brush but shut itself off , a few super tiny lego pieces , one day it got it my master closet and ingested a shoe lace end and shut itself off ....I love it .Update 8-11-2017 Took this to my girlfriends home who has indoors 1 dog and two cats . To make a long story short - in her clean home we had to empty R2sweep2 3 times as he was absolutely full while vacuuming her house for almost 2 hrs . She is sold and buying one as soon as funds allow ! it worked pretty well picking up unseen cat and dog hair .Update 11-14-17 I finally tried the mop function on mine . I picked up all my area rugs and turned it loose on my tile floor. My tiles are very rustic with pits and valleys designed into them on purpose. The mop function drags across the tops of the valleys and obviously doesnt and cannot mop inside of them. On the higher surfaces it appeared to pickup quite a bit of dirt as evidenced by the dirty pad when completed . NOTE you are only supposed to use clear water only . I think one of the reasons is because cleaning chemicals cause slippage of the drive wheels where water does not . I snuck in a "tiny" bit of pine sol anyway and it worked fine . Again pretty impressed with this unit and the mop feature. Its not going to replace real mopping but would suffice in a pinch if you didnt have time . I also think it needs to dampen the pad more as mine appeared too dry after about 10-15 minutes. It was leaving streaks behind it rather than a nice wet swath as wide as the pad. I rinsed my dirty mop pad off at the end with my kitchen sprayer and it pretty much came clean .

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed.
Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2020
This is a review for the Ecovacs Deebot M80 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner. In late 2018 I ordered the Deebot N79S and it has performed flawlessly from day one. That robot vac is a pleasure to own. I’m glad I’ve had that model for a while, because it’s allowed me to objectively compare how lousy the Deebot M80 Pro actually is, or at least the one I received in the mail.

Where the Deebot N79S is mild mannered, composed and graceful, relatively quiet, cleans very well, avoids most obstacles, and works pretty much inconspicuously in the background, the Deebot M80 Pro is like an air-headed dalmatian let loose in a glassware shop. The M80 Pro is loud, clumsy, heavy and I don’t know if it’s the particular model I received, but it’s front and side collision sensors never seemed to be working. It will avoid falling over a set of stairs, but aside from that, it doesn’t recognize anything in front, so it just bumps (or better said, “slams”) into absolutely everything. It’s like watching a slow but shrill pinball machine. It will slam into walls, into chair and table legs, into doors with a loud bang, and even slam and try to climb up your own foot… if you don’t quickly get it out of its way.

The very first day I got the Deebot M80 Pro and tried it, I noticed it got stuck momentarily under my night table and began bouncing underneath for a few seconds; (the M80 Pro is a bit taller than the Deebot N79S). To my dismay, apparently it had brutally forced its way out from under the night table or later from under the bed, and when I checked it to see how much dust it had collected, the M80 Pro had a collection of awful-looking gashes, scrapes and scratches on the top section, especially on the white lid that you lift up to get to the trash bin. At least one gash goes from one extreme of the lid to the other, and I thought the plastic had literally split, maybe because something had fallen on top of the vac. But no, it clumsily damaged itself. Oh and it took me DAYS to finally be able to get the vac to work with Wi-Fi and hence with Alexa. This process was relatively easy with the Deebot N79S.

Two days ago, this vacuum slammed into a six foot ladder that was closed up against a wall, knocked it over, and the ladder fell on and shattered a small glass table with various ornaments. That’s when I decided this piece of junk has to go. It’s really like the M80 Pro is possessed.

But if you’re willing to put up with all this, how does the Deebot M80 Pro clean? I found myself a few times having to re-sweep the area where the vacuum had already passed through. It was never obviously dirty to the naked eye, but I could feel particles and grittiness left behind where I stepped with my bare feet. When I swept again with an old school broom, there was always some dirt in the dustpan that the M80 Pro left behind. Great. I only used the mopping feature twice, (the main reason why I ordered this model), but it wasn’t great either. I ended up mopping again later with a real mop.

In summary, I wouldn’t recommend this robot vacuum at all. I always thought it seemed fishy that the Deebot M80 Pro had been reduced from its regular $212.77, first to $165.68 and later to $148.77, which is the price I finally purchased it for. Nowhere does it say that it was refurbished, but I’ve been wondering all along if this was a known “bad batch,” and Ecovacs and/or Amazon tried to sell it anyway. In any case, I don’t want it. I want my money back.
