Yes this receiver does have an equalizer, it has other functions that allows you to create the perfect song that you want that go beyond the equalizer. As you know it's the speakers that make the receiver. after putting this receiver in my truck I had no idea what my speakers were capable of. I bought a digital Subwoofer to go with this receiver. the bass is so deep in my truck right now I don't even need a subwoofer. I am beyond happy.
I love how my phone connects to this thing too. Bluetooth is a beautiful thing and some Bluetooth devices connect quicker and better than others. This receiver is perfect. All of its features and functions and the things that it's capable of doing I got this for a great price on Amazon. Now after all that preys one thing I do want to say is, the dimension of the receiver is a little bit bigger than the original equipment that was in my vehicle. had a hell of a time installing it getting it to fit with all the wiring in the harnesses and all that stuff. Your vehicle obviously may be different but with my experience it was a tight fit. Now that it is installed Lovin life in my truck! I've always been a big fan of pioneer I love the Thumping deep bass Pioneer products produce.
This thing sounds amazing once you get it set up and learn all the functions it has. It is very easy to use once you watch a couple vids on line - the book is kind of crap outside of initial setup, but once you get used to the way the screen lay out is and logic its easy to get the rest handled. I had to pair this with a MITO-1 interface for the Eclipse. but the color code for the radio and the MITO-1 were very well written and able to be spliced together easy enough.
Now that it is set up the power output on the RCA's and the rest of the unit is quite impressive. It breathed new life into the factory 650 watt amp and I actually was able to upgrade my sub to a more efficient brand with this and sounds amazing.
USB input is nice at up to 32GB of music. Blue tooth pairing is nice and loud and clear. Individual speaker volume support is an added bonus.
All in all this is a dam good buy and would do so again in a heart beat.
I got this stereo for the ease of use, visibility in daylight, advanced audio settings (including AutoEQ), Spotify integration, and Waze integration. It met most of these criteria, but it fell short in a few instances.
Pros:
-Great sounding (even with stock speakers)
-13 band graphic equalizer
-Spotify integration (a bit limited though)
-Customizable colors and backgrounds
-Relatively easy to see during the day
-Easy to use
-Reliable bluetooth connection (dual connection as well)
-Backup camera compatible
Cons:
-Waze doesn't work with current iOS (hopefully will be fixed with software update)
-Auto EQ doesn't seem to work very well
-No customizable guidelines for backup camera
-App Radio Live is pretty much useless
-Album artwork only works over usb
The main thing that surprised me about this stereo is how amazing it sounds. I still have the stock speakers in my car, but I have added a powered subwoofer. I thought that my old single din stereo sounded pretty good, but after installing this one I discovered that I was very wrong. It’s a bit louder, there’s less distortion, and there’s more definition to the sound which really surprised me because it has the same amplifier as my old stereo, so I’m not sure what’s going on there. All I know is that it sounds great.
As for AutoEQ, I wasn’t very impressed. I used a different microphone than the one Pioneer sells, so that might be why it didn’t work for me, but I fail to see how the microphones differ. The AutoEQ ended up making it sound worse than with the stock settings and I actually got way better results just by adjusting everything manually and by ear. I would suggest passing on the Pioneer microphone for AutoEQ and just adjusting the settings yourself.
The operating system on the stereo is decent, but not amazing. Spotify integration is nice, but it’s a bit lacking in my opinion. You can add or remove songs from your library, start new stations, and thumbs up or down songs, but it’s very tedious to browse for songs. I find myself using my phone to browse for a specific song. I don’t use Pandora so I can’t comment on that. The AppRadio Live is crap so I wouldn’t even bother with it.
The touchscreen is good, but not the best since its resistive and not capacitive. The main issue is with scrolling which can be finicky, but other than that it’s very responsive.
Installation is pretty straightforward just like any other stereo, just make sure you get a wiring harness for your specific car. I also installed a backup camera at the same time which was a little bit trickier since I hadn't done it before, but there are plenty of Youtube videos explaining that stuff so I won't talk about it here. Once installed, the backup camera works great; it turns on right when I put it into reverse and turns off when in drive. My only complaint is that the stereo doesn't have programmable guide lines for the backup camera which I thought it did when I bought it.
My biggest gripe with this stereo is that Waze does not work with iOS 11 (I don’t know about iOS 10 or android). The Waze app on my iPhone recognizes that it is connected to the stereo, but the stereo does not display anything, just a blank screen. I contacted Pioneer about the issue and they responded to me saying that they are aware of the problem and that I should check the website for updates frequently. This was in September (it’s now November as I’m writing this), so I’m a bit skeptical if an update will ever come out and even if it does, another iOS update may break the functionality again.
Overall, I think this stereo’s benefits greatly outweigh the negatives. Unless you absolutely need Waze to work with iOS, I would highly recommend it.

The system plays dvd for my grand baby.
Obviously it plays cd.
Bluetooth to multiple phones.
You can connect the usb wire to your phone and put the head unit into iPod mode which bangs harder.
The radio is cool.
You can change the screen display to different colors
There is MIXTRAX and pioneer live you can play from.
It plays from Pandora or Spotify.
I love it.
