I have always been the "get down on your hands and knees" sort for cleaning floors. Alas, that is no longer physically possible. I have spinal issues, and can't carry much weight, either. So, I have tried a number of solutions: this Bissell, damp swiffers, a spinning mop set, and 2 brands of robotic floor cleaners. This one turned out to be my favorite. I have had it for 10 months now, with no issues. I bought one extra set of mop heads at that time, and there is no sign of needing to replace any of them, yet (Two person household, one cat, and one of these people refuses to take his shoes off so the floors get really dirty).
First, the mop set. These are really nice. I bought one when they first arrived on the scene, and the brand was called "Sir Mops A Lot." There are other brand names, too, and they look similar so it is probably the same manufacturer. This did make mopping the floor much easier. It could take a little bit of patience to get the mop lined up to "spin" correctly, but that wasn't an issue for me. I liked the on-board soap dispenser, and the built-in handle to move it around. The problem was that due to my limitations, I could not empty the bucket. I could fill it one pitcher of water at a time, and didn't want to handle dirty water that way. Otherwise, my search would have ended.

Damp swiffers just didn't get the job done, and depended on me to apply pressure which is tough on my spine. I tried 2 brands of robotic floor washers, because I really wanted that to work. Who wouldn't want a robot to do the floor? :) One famous name-brand had problems with leaking, and the other got itself stuck going in a tight circular pattern while I wasn't paying attention, and it actually damaged the vinyl tile (poor flooring choice, but still). So, I do not recommend those. For just a vacuum, sure. To mop it has to have much more contact with the floor, and that's where there is more potential for damage either from that, or leaking that could go unnoticed.
This spinwave mop has been just great! At 8 pounds it is coming close to maxing out the weight I am allowed to carry, so I do not fill the water container. Instead, I just spray the cleaner on the floor ahead of time, and then go for it. The pads stick onto the velcro easily. Some reviewers mentioned that theirs did not work. I wonder if they tried lowering the handle out of the vertical position. It doesn't spin until you do that. This glides over the floor, and as long as the pads are lined up evenly, it takes almost no effort at all to guide it. I could do it with two fingers! The pads go into the washing machine, too, and I love that aspect (I knock the loose dirt off, first). There are pads that are completely soft, and others have a slight scrubby texture to them. I found that either type gets my floors very clean, even the grout. I do recommend having extra pads, and those are available here:

I'm glad I bought
First: The package was a little heavier than I expected when I went to bring it into the house. Be careful when you lift it...it caught me off guard.Second: Assembly was super easy. You just pop the 2 pieces together. There was a little muscle/force needed, but overall, it shouldn't be difficult.I finally used it after 2 weeks of getting it. I have bamboo flooring. I only use Bona hardwood cleaning solution. However, the Spin Wave did come with 2 small containers of concentrated solution you dilute with water. The reusable solution container has a ratio guide on the back (see picture).Third: I just cleaned the kitchen and a small powder room. The picture shows a side-by-side of a used pad vs. a new pad. I honestly hadn't mopped the floor in weeks and have had some repair work done in house.I also bought an extra set of pads separate from the 2 sets that come with Spin Wave.Fourth: I originally was thinking about buying the rechargeable version.I AM GLAD I bought the CORDED version. The cord is not super long, so I had to unplugged and plug back in; a little inconvenient, as expected though. I ran it a while when cleaning; I think the rechargeable version would have run out of charge before I finished.Fifth: Spin Wave has 1 speed. It's nice because, unlike a regular wet mop, I did not have to use much muscle or elbow grease to push it around. I just had to push and guide the rotating mop where I wanted it to go. It would have been nice if it had a 2nd higher speed than what it comes with. I'm not sure if I have to get used to using, but it seemed like it took a while to get done cleaning.Overall: I would recommend this over a regular wet mop. The ability of it to have the rotating heads makes cleaning easier and less tiring.

Ordering this mop I was hopeful but skeptical. Our English Bully makes messes on our floor every day. She drools, throws up her water, and wreaks havoc on our tiles. I ordered this hoping it would be a simple solution to the dried wet spots and sticky floors resulting from walking thru wetness or getting "slimed". Between her and a teenager.... forget it. This machine came easy to assemble, click it together in a few shorts steps and plug it in! The mop is so light you can manouever with one finger, it doesn't require a lot of heavy lifting or muscle power. The spray function is great. I found that one spritz per 10×10 tile did the job. Dont move over your entire floor too fast if you want a good cleaning. Also, edging it up to the baseboards is a treat compared to regular mops that leave behind a mess on baseboards. This thing shines the baseboards pretty nicely. It's pretty quiet and peaceful to use. My ONLY complaint (aside from UPS misdelivering it the first time around....) i DO NOT favor the cleaning solution by this company at all. Maybe it is mild because it's for hardwood AND tiles but it does absolutely nothing for my tiles. The package recommends only bissel cleaning products however so many other reviews indicate you can use any solution you want. I did my entire floor downstairs with bissel multifloor solution and was NOT happy. I refilled the water container with warm water and a teeny bit of Mr. Clean and it was a HUGE difference. All in all, it's a great product but your tough spots may still need a little elbow grease or hands and knees cleaning. The lightness and swivvel function make it fun and satisfying to use but it's no commercial grade floor buffer ;) PS: amazon sells refill heads for this with tougher scrubbing componets. I got 6 for about $20 AND when you're done mopping, throw them in the washer and they are good as new!!
