Wondering about your iMac? It works perfectly for me 1440 resolution works. No flicker.
Why is this monitor worth it? For me it's because my iMac was 2560x1440 resolution, but to have more than one monitor, you need the ancillary monitor to have the same vertical resolution, if you're to align the two monitors. Most 27" monitors are 1080 lines of vertical. This is not just an inferior 2nd monitor, it basically dumbs down the first one to 1080 if you are going to have any windows that split between the two screens. This monitor is functioning well with a 27" iMac. I spent the extra money primarily to get the 1440 vertical resolution, which matched my 2011 iMac. I've read the other reviews with problems with this monitor switching, etc. I have not had that problem and the monitor is functioning correctly with both 2560x1440 resolution, and it is not "disconnecting" itself and reconnecting. This concern almost kept me from purchasing, because the monitor it was replacing was having that exact problem. It's important to know that the cable was important. I initially plugged the monitor in with an hdmi cable. Wether this was the result of the cable or my video card I don't konw, but the 1440 resolution was not an option in my monitors menus (1080 as the highest resolution that showed). I purchased a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable (link below) and immediately the 1440 option was present. Since then, the Monitor has performed swimmingly.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013PWQN1Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1For reference, my iMac was:27-inch, Mid-2011Processor 3.4GHz Intel Core i7Memory 32GB 1333MHz DDR3 (this is aftermarket upgrade)AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048MB

Great monitor, awesome colors, came well packaged. I am not into the gaming thing, but I am into the photography thing, so for my purpose is a perfect monitor. Keep in mind that the height cannot be adjusted, also the controls are on the back of the monitor, this is a little hard to access and adjust the settings. Its a VESA compatible. 4 stars well deserved.

    UPDATE 9/21/17

I ordered a second monitor to set up a dual-monitor system, and right away a noticed a white balance mismatch between the two monitors. No mater what I did, I could not make both monitors to match the colors. So I ordered a replacement, bingo! As soon as I set the replacement to the settings of the other monitor(second monitor), colors match right away. This indicates that the first monitor has some issues.

Quality control issues BenQ or not Quality control at all and letting customer do the quality control? Dumping Chinese junk in the USA BenQ?

I am surprise to find this out since this is not a 175 Dollars monitor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Decent price, good image quality, annoying eye icon popup
Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2018
I was looking for a larger monitor with greater than 1080p resolution that didn't brake the bank. I had never had any interactions with BenQ so I was pretty hesitant, but reviews and price were right so I took a chance. So far very happy with the monitors and their resolution, and find that the backlight is pretty uniform without major hotspots. The increased resolution is very nice.

The "Eye Care" feature I found to be extremely annoying in that it would constantly popup an eye Icon on the monitors. I ended up disabling it. I couldn't find much information as to what else to do to remove the popup.
