USB LED Light Strip Comparison

Get the right length TV backlighting kit for your TV

• 1-meter/39-inch | Computer Monitor

Our shortest length light strip is ideal for smaller monitors. This shorter length light strip should be installed middle-centered for an even light spread on all four sides. For more light spread, consider the 2-meter/78-Inch version.

• 2-meter/78-inch | Large Computer Monitors & Smaller TVs

Our mid-tier length light strip is ideal for larger computer monitors and smaller TVs up to 32-inch in size. The smaller the TV, the closer to the TV edge the light strip can be installed. If used for a larger TV, apply light strip more middle-centered for an even light spread on all four sides. For more light spread, consider the 4-meter/156-inch version.

• 4m/156-inch | Large TVs (40+ Inches)

Our longest length light strip is ideal for larger TVs, but can also be used on smaller TVs for more light coverage. The long length of the 4m/156-inch light strip allows it to run closer to the edge of the TV, monitor or desk for a wider light spread.

If you're tv is on the bigger side beware.

If you're tv is on the bigger side beware.
So let's start with the good.Being able to choose from a bunch of different colors is kind of fun, they range from purple to blue and even green. It was super easy to install, on the package it says to clean the back of the tv before installing so the adhesive will stick, my tv is brand new so that wasn't a problem. The USB plug in is pretty nifty and the USB chord that's attached to the lights is perfect length. The remote is connected to the actual light strip but it's placed closer to the lights than it is the USB chord so it's not hard to reach, and the response time is instant with each button press. Now the bad...The length was no where near long enough for my 55" tv, and I was expecting that it wouldn't be but atleast long enough to run the top and zig zag in the middle TV to do the bottom. Yeahhhh no. So I figured we'll let me move it closer to the middle of the tv so I can just do a complete circle. Well I did it that way, popped the tv back on the mount and.... you only see the lights at the bottom of the tv...which you can see in the photo.A lot of the reviews said it worked perfectly with their 55" tv's so I gave this one a try. Didn't work out to my advantage. Hopefully this will help someone else who has a tv bigger than 40". If so buy two or get a different product from a different brand cause they don't currently list an option to buy a bigger length just different colors.I bought this one because of the star rating and because Amazon suggested it, wish I would have clicked the lower level reviews so I could see more of the honesty. Score one swift power. Me zero.

This strip worked perfectly on my 55" Samsung TV. I just wrapped it around the back of the TV about 4 inches away from the outer edges and it's bright enough to provide the look I was going for. The remote was already attached to the LED stand. Using the remote takes a little getting used to, so I put it on the color and setting I liked before sticking to the TV. Tips: 1) after wiping off the surface of the TV, find the center of the strip by folding the light portion in half, marking the back of the LED strip with a pen/marker and then use that mark to center the lights with top of the TV. 2) make sure to set it up so that you have easy access to the attached remote. 3) don't cover up any access ports, screws, or manufacture's stickers, or any place that might interfere with wall mounts, because once it's on there, it'll be tough to move and stick back on. 4) it's doable as a one person job but it's way easier with two people. 5) finally, start the adhesion process by plugging in the LED (With the TV off, they are blindingly bright lights) and apply the strip from the USB end first. This way when you get to the end and discover you have some extra, you can just cut it off. I highly recommend teal, blue, red, and purple (solid light, no flashing or color changing patterns) for watching TV. The color changing options are great for when you use your TV with music and/or in a party setting. Will update if we encounter any issues.

Perfect alternative that saved me $70. I have the Phillips Hue smart light system in my wife and I's bedroom and I wanted to have a light strip to compliment the colored lights but did not want to pay the $75 for a smart LED strip. it runs off USB and has more options with the controller than you would ever really need I have mine plugged into a USB port on my computer and it has never failed to turn on. I keep mine on one shade of green at all times to compliment the LED fans in my desktop computer you can change the brightness and I'm sure it has more options that you could possibly need. Applying it on the TV was a 10 minute process and was not very hard, adhesive seems like it will last for years to come. The light strip itself is kind of ugly but as long as the TV is facing a wall from behind that should not be an issue. There is a ton of uses for these strips, I want to mount one behind my bed and maybe in the kitchen. My father in law is going to mount some on the underlip of a boat on the interior. Overall for $10 more than worth the price and I will be buying more. The only suggestion I would have is if you plan on changing the colors often I would upgrade to the one with the remote control.

First observations: I didn't consider the possibility that my new TCL 43" TV would have a USB port that stayed powered when the TV is off, but unfortunately that is the case. I wish there were a, off option on the little regulator switch since plugging and unplugging are too difficult a solution for regular use with the mounted TV. Because the lights are so nice and inexpensive I decided to keep them. Going to the model with the remote (as suggested in Q&A) would require too large an investment and that string is too long. So I plugged the USB into a power strip near the TV. I don't love it that I can see a bit of cord coming down, but it is a workable solution.

A Discovery: I previously ignored the "manual" , a 3"x4" single sheet I found imposible to read because of the miniscule print. When I was able to find a magnifying glass, I discoved that the strip can be turned off by pressing the middle button for 2 seconds. I will not raise the star rating however because the print size renders the manual basically useless unless one hunts for a magnifying glass everytime one wants to refer to it. I would recomment to the manufaturer that doubling or tripling the size or printing on both sides to enlarge the print would greatly increase customer satisfaction at little cost.

I searched long and hard for led back lighting for a 65 inch Samsung ks8000 TV. Nothing comes close to the amount of length you get for the small amount of money you pay. This does not include a remote but that's probably a good thing (they tend to break first or get misplaced). It comes with 3 built in buttons along the length of the wire to change color, dimmness, mode (flashing or solid). The adhesive tape is very good and the LEDs won't fall off. You can carefully bend the strip to make 90 degree turn (use common sense). LEDs are very bright. Make sure your tv USB can supply 1A 5v or you might need a separate charger to power the led or keep it at a dimmer setting. Samsung KS8000 can definitely power this led strip. If you're buying this for a 65 inch TV, you won't be able to place it at edge of the tv and get coverage at the bottom. If you place the led about 8 inches from the edge, there is enough length for full coverage of the rear of the tv. The lighting will still look good with no gaps. The seller also stand behind their product so definitely buy with confidence and contact them (if they don't contact you first) with any problems.
