The long version:
I'll start off by saying two things: A). I have very limited experience with chainsaws, which is to say I've used one once.......and B). I purchased this for very small back-yard work on palm style trees 3-6" trunks, and buried/rotten palm trunks buried under the grass from decades ago. I assumed that's why this product was designed. And, I certainly though a 14" blade would go through wood that size with ease.
Given the accessibility, and advancements of battery power chainsaws, I assumed (four letter word), that an electric, cord powered chainsaw would tackle anything in my particular backyard with ease, as long as I could stand running a 100ft cord across the yard.
In short, it took every ounce of power to go through both, with the chain stopping multiple times on both types of tree, due to the density of the wood, one of which again, was rotted (the logs in the pic were from a rotten buried small palm, each log rotted to the point of weighing about 3lbs). I didn't expect this to compete with a gas powered (smaller sized) chainsaw's. But, I didn't expect it to be at best 1/5 the power either, with almost a complete absence of torque. That I wasn't quite expecting. Maybe that's because I have no idea what I'M doing. I started, and then I cut....that was my technique for 3-6" logs.
You have to remind yourself that this was only $50, and it's electric. Be patient, and you'll eventually accomplish your goal. The log in the pics took about 15-20min of "stop and go" sawing.
