Product Description

Manicuring your lawn is usually a ground-level affair, but when your trees are overgrown and reaching for your neighbor’s yard, pruning them back can be a job that’s out of reach for even the tallest landscapers. If you want to make a breeze out of pruning trees, a Milliard Telescoping Pole Saw and Tree Pruning Tool will do that with ease. Show those branches whose side of the fence they’re on and cut them down to size!

Sharp blades on our pruning shears help make cutting easier, but applied physics make it even easier still. A large 1.25 inch cutting aperture also means you can cut bigger branches. If it fits, it snips without annoying power cords or batteries to slow you down. The power is in your hands, literally.

  • A 1.25 inch cutting aperture make it one of the thickest available pruners on the market.

Hate sharpening your garden tools? The 14in saw blade is tempered with high-carbon steel to hold its edge over prolonged use – the same process that’s used in forging quality knives and swords! Each saw tooth is also 3-sided and specially sharpened for maximum cutting on each stroke back and forward for twice the efficiency with half the effort. The 1.2mm thick blade is also treated with a non-stick surface to reduce friction for smooth cutting with fewer snags. Wipe it down after every use to keep it clean and neat.

Whether you’re small or tall, our tree pruner will make short work out of high branches. The lightweight extension pole stretches to a 14ft in total length that can reach out and touch timber that thinks the sky is a place to hide. No treacherous climbing or wobbly ladders necessary. The extension pole is fiberglass-reinforced for strength and rigidity while you work, and collapses to half its size for storage and portability when the work is done.

  • Full Length – 16 Feet Long
  • Compact Length – 6 Feet Long
  • Material – Fiberglass for easy maneuverability

Sometimes you must pull some strings to get your work done, but if you don’t have the proper grip, you might be in for an epic burn – rope burn that is. That’s why our adjustable grip handle is great for getting the leverage you need for pulling on the full-length pulley rope.

With the compound pulley system built in to the pruning head, your effort is multiplied 4x when nipping through branches, so you have 4x less work to do.

Great product, once you get past some confusion

Great product, once you get past some confusion
The manufacturer's "Product Description" write-up, under the "Quick & Easy Extension" section lists this item as being 16 foot and also as being 14 foot and having a fiberglass extension pole. After recieving the product, the manufacturer's confusion about their own product only deepens, as can be seen in the attached photo of the packaging. To set the record straight, this is a 3 section Pole Saw/Pruner that extends to a maximum 16'-4" in length from the bottom of the pole to the lowest portion of the pruner notch (the part that needs to clear the top of a branch for use). Depending on your height (and how much blood you want to have in your arms while using the product), you can prune or saw branches approximately 23 feet above the ground. The extension pole is 3 pieces; of which ONLY THE LOWEST SECTION (outermost section) is fiberglass, the other 2 sections are aluminum. Fully extended, the product has a bit of a "wet noodle" effect, but it is manageable. The extension clamps do tend to jam up pretty badly but, after freeing them with 2 strap wrenches, that was rectified by applying a light touch of Super Lube - Synthetic GreaseSuper Lube 21030 Synthetic Grease (NLGI 2), 3 oz Tubeto the areas where the plastic parts mate (being careful to ensure the lube won't contact the poles during operation). The product worked well, although I did manage to slightly bend the tip of the pruner blade. This prevented the pruner blade from closing completely or cutting completely through the branches. That was, most likely, my fault; I was pruning frozen branches in 15 degree weather. A quick dressing with a hammer and things were back to normal. The saw blade bolt has a lock washer and wing nut but still tends to work loose. Unfortunately, there are not enough extra threads on the bolt to "kill" the last ones in order to prevent wing nut loss (I didn't lose mine, but I came real close). A touch of liquid thread lock may be helpful there. An improvement would be a slightly longer blade bolt and a "Nylock" wing nut.All in all, a great product at a reasonable price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great saw for the money, pole tubes weak and bend
Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2019
Blade was quality, pruning attachment with rope works excellent. Pole even fully extended is super light and easy to pull. My only complaint is I bent both tubes already after only cutting maybe 10-15 2-3” limbs yesterday. Makes it very difficult to close or open the sliding tubes now without trying to bend them back to straight.

This is coming from a homeowner who ran a landscaping crew for 10 years. I’ve got plenty of experience with different styles of manual and powered pole saws. Nothing will beat the multiple wood poles linked together manual style in my opinion, but for the average homeowner this is probably a great buy.

Overall I’d say it’s a 4 out of 5. Strong cutting head, great blade, lightweight, small pruning attachment works excellent, but pole tubes are too thin wall and leave something to be desired in the strength department.
