In the subjective realm, I felt like this camera was more fun to shoot with. I don't do this professionally, instead for a hobby, so the entertainment aspect of photography is significantly more important that the actual outcome. What I also found the E-M10 to be superior in when comparing the A6000 is auto focus. The ability to quickly pick a new focus point on the E-M10 is a huge factor when trying to get a good shot of an ephemeral moment; the A6000 was incredibly clumsy when it came to the selection of a focal point.
Over all, I think this is a great camera that takes great pictures. The image stabilization was the feature that made we buy this, but the subjective reason was how intuitive the menu/auto focus selection is for me. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Here are the reasons why:
1. They changed the ports and there’s no remote shutter cable connector.
2. They took away a lot of programmability on the function buttons.
3. They took away the programmability on the direction pad.
4. One less programmable function button.
5. They took away the “Myset” preset option.
6. They also eliminated the wireless RC flash function.
As far as I can tell the only positive changes are:
1. An improved processor which makes negligible improvement in photo quality.
2. 4k video capability.
3. An additional art filer.
4. Changes in the grip and aesthetics.
Understand that I’ve been an Olympus fan and user since 1980 but I feel like they let us down this time. I have both of these cameras and absolutely LOVE my EM10 MK2, but I will be returning the MK3. I believe the things they’ve taken away outweigh the improvements. If you have remote cables and wireless shutter releases from other Olympus cameras you cannot use them with the EM10 MK3 as there is no port for them. It appears the only way to remotely trigger the camera is with the OL Share app on a smartphone, pretty lame in my opinion. I know they say this is a beginner level “step up” camera, and I don’t consider myself a beginner in photography after 37 years of taking photos, but this is way too limited and too Fisher Price on some of the menus for my liking.
In the ads they proudly tout the improvements but neglect to mentions the things that are no longer there. Even beginners might like to have a camera that can grow with them instead of one they’ll quickly grow out of. I hope this honest review will help someone with their purchasing choice. You cannot go wrong with the EM10 MK2 and it’s a great camera and learning tool beginner or not and $150 cheaper!
Both of the attached photos were taken with the Olympus 12-40mm Pro lens. The first one was taken with the EM10 MK2 and the second with the EM10 MK3. There's hardly any noticeable difference in quality.

Sunny Days - Direct access to functions while using EVF
I do all pre-exposure and post exposure viewing through the electronic viewfinder(EVF) on the bright sunny days when the back display is not viewable. I can try a few exposure techniques in the bright sunlight with direct access to the functions I need, without fishing or two step process.
I start with auto mode. I can look thru the EVF and still touch the LCD panel and drag the focus box. Then I go to aperture priority , tweek the exposure compensation on the front wheel (default setting). Still no menu fishing. Magnify is reasigned to BTN1 magnify in the multi function instead of the stand alone magnify. Manual focus is reassigned to BTN 2 to further verify focus along with Magnify. Hit the shutter. Then I go to HDR reassigned to REC. The exposure comp on the front wheel will work along with HDR. SO, with my buttons reassigned with new functions, I can try a few exposure techniques in the bright sunlight with direct access to the functions I need, without menu fishing or two step process.
