Day 1: I'll hold my breath...
5 Stars
Day 1: I'll hold my breath...
OK, first, I'm a paying customer; bought this fair and square ...to save my hair (sorry). So I just started using this a few days ago, which means I've only actually USED it/washed my hair twice now. And no, I did not grow a whole new head of hair overnight like some crazy Jack & the Beanstalk potion (that would be way cooler)....but I am going to try to post updates/progress reports along the way if I can remember, because I know how much I rely on reviews and, as a woman especially, the threat of thinning (or no) hair has my attention. I was thinking when menopause got here I'd be out of the woods, hot dog!! Crap. It's only been a few months, but INSTANTLY my hair started jumping ship and I'm trying to do what I can to stop it. I think I got menoPLUS instead. More of everything EXCEPT hair. I am instantly fat (permanently, no matter what, it seems), angry, sad ... and my long blonde hair is coming out in alarmingly assertive clumps. Like I said, I JUST started using this, but I have to be totally honest that it smells horrendous to me. I hate it. But I hate my hair falling out a lot more. So I breathe through my mouth the entire time like a little kid. Covering it up with a fruity or sweet smelling conditioner or treatment just makes it worse, but it DOES actually sort of "blend" in a way with my Joico K-Pak treatment, masque, and cuticle sealer. Spicy sort of smells, or my hemp and keratin stuff. Also, a quick clarifying rinse with plain old apple cider vinegar neutralized the smell almost entirely, and it's something I'd been meaning to do anyway. It's like pairing wine (or anything!?) with Roquefort cheese, I guess. If you choose a suitable, spicy pairing, it's not so bad. :) Smell was TOTALLY gone and fine the minute I rinsed and put the next treatment on, actually, so it's all good. I was going to post a picture of my (gross!!!) hair shed in the sink before I used the shampoo today, but no. Just no. I am posting a (horribly lit -- I do NOT take selfies) pic of my dried hair, so you can at least sort of tell that it does leave hair full and shiny and not weighed down. I can tell you the shampoo feels good, makes a nice lather, doesn't really tingle but maybe feels cooling or invigorating. I have little hair scrubbies I use, though, cause I like the way they feel, so they are great for circulation, etc., anyway. Makes a normal, good lather. Rinses easily with no discernible residue. Smell dissipated surprisingly quickly as I rinsed. Don't know if it was the shampoo, the massaging, the combination of ALL the different steps (masque, massaging gently and longer than normal, cuticle sealer...) but only a few strands, literally like two, came out when I brushed out my wet hair prior to thermal protectant/drying. Or maybe not much came out because there isn't much left. Hope not. We'll see. If someone sees a bald patch, now or in future updates, please tell me. ..UPDATE1. In scanning to see if my review had ever been posted to try to find out how to add this update, I couldn't help but read here and there and I saw a few snarky comments about "ALL the great reviews in October and November," of which mine was one. Interesting conspiracy theory, truly. But it's a bit overboard and unwarranted to take it as far as lamenting the dishonesty of Amazon peers ....like we're all posting fake reviews, or didn't actually pay for our products, or didn't really see any results. Not tryna overreact; just stating as 1 of the fans that I sure did pay full price for this product, not expecting anything I guess, but hoping.2. I also noticed a lot of "smells good," "love the smell," etc and I got the paranoid feeling that I caused the smell-alanch too with my review. Probably not. But if so, sorry. I do still hate the smell, but I automatically breathe through my mouth now while I wash, and the smell goes away completely, to me. It's not SO bad, like tears-to-my-eyes-bad, but it's not the best. Looks ARE the best, though, and I guess I'm shallow cause that trumps smell. Anyway,It's been a few weeks now and I just remembered to post an update. Since my hair had JUST begun falling out a few months before I started this shampoo (combined with a host of other changes), it's not visible from just looking at my hair that there is a difference....except that I still have hair! At the rate it was coming out, in big hunks just when I ran water through it, I was starting to panic. This might not sound major to some of you, but I took out a ponytail elastic after my workout today (so it was REALLY on there tight to last the entire sparring matches and getting socked in the face) and it slipped right off and NO.HAIR.CAME.OUT. I s&*$ you not. I have always had super long hair that I find everywhere, and have never ever ever ever taken out, or put in for that matter, a hair elastic or clip or anything without coming away with at least a few hairs that came off. So now I am certain of the "maybe it's working??" I have been wondering. At least for now. As I said, though, I am also taking (as always) a LOT of supplements, and especially increased my hair and nail formulas with biotin or keratin, etc. I also consistently use a host of Joico and Redken products for sealing the cuticle, protein, anti-snap and shine. Lots more treatments, lots more specific directions, but who knew my hair could look nice and girly? I am not a stylist, doctor or anything close, FYI, so my routine may be bollocks. As a boxer, though, I have made a career of studying, reading, closely monitoring all aspects of nutrition, supplements, health, wellness, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly hair re-growth. Worth every penny.
Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2021
I’ve been using this for almost a whole year now. I suddenly lost what felt like all my hair. I used to have very thick, strong hair & then thinned out to very little, as you can see in the picture. I started losing hair in clumps. The picture with the most hair is how much I was losing every day. Then my sister got me this shampoo. It’s got a mild scent & it doesn’t lather a lot - a testament to me that it doesn’t have the fillers of regular shampoo. I didn’t have to use much, since I had hardly any hair, but by the 3rd use I saw a noticeable decrees in my hair loss in the shower. And then in my brush & when I’d run my fingers through my hair. After about a month I could see all the little fly-aways starting to show up from all the new hair starting to grow. Now, 11 mos later, you can see all the new hair & how long it’s grown. I only use it twice a week & again I don’t have to use quite as much as regular shampoo. But I scrub it in good against my scalp & let it sit for a couple mins. My new hair coming in is once again thick & strong. The picture with less hair is how much I lose in the shower now. I also stopped using conditioner when I lost all my hair & this shampoo gives me such soft, lustrous hair that I still don’t. I bought their conditioner & it’s great. I just don’t need it anymore. I love this shampoo so much, it’s worth every penny. I watch for it to go on sale & snatch it when it does. I’m only on my second, maybe third, bottle for the 11 mos I’ve been using it. If you need hair re-growth, this is the real thing. Just as a heads up (no pun intended), you might look like Einstein for a little bit since all the new hairs are starting to grow & give you a head of fly-aways until they are long enough to tame.

5.0 out of 5 stars This thing works!
Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2024
Yo! This shampoo actually works! 35yo male here. Been on fin/min spray for a year now and was still losing a ton of hair. After a month of using this product my hair gradually stopped from shedding! Used it with another brand of biotin conditioner and my hair looks and feels thicker! Thank goodness! I definitely recommend! Already did with some of my coworkers!
