    This can crusher works well I’ve had it about 4 mounts I’ve had to replace the rivets in 3 places see photos. Now that I’ve replaced them it’s working a lot better. It is not as sloppy, lose. When you pull the Handel. The bolts work so much better. I used lock nuts, because you don’t want the tight if they loosen up I’ll put lock tight on the nuts. 1/4 20 nuts and bolts work well

    I was looking for a cheap way to crush cans and this worked fairly well.
    Overall, it will do the job and I too became a victim of a poorly attached handle! Instead of writing a bad review about this seeming small design defect, I slipped the rod into the handle and put that side on the flat part of an anvil. A few whacks with a hammer - on the opposite side of the pin - and I was back in business. Thanks Dad, I learned quite a bit from you. The action is pretty straight forward, insert can, yank handle down and repeat.

    I mounted the crusher on a two by four about three feet long, close to one end. That way I can sit in a chair and with one foot, brace it against the fence or building and crush away. I like this because I can adjust where I sit and where I can crush cans with, its portable.

    About the actual can crushing? I was bored and began to play around and found out two things. For some strange reason the cans crush easier upside down. Another thing that I learned was as I loaded the can into the crusher, if I used my thumb to push the side of the can in? (Just a little dent will do..) the can is IMMENSELY easier to crush.

    Other than the handle/pin problem - and anyone with half a brain can fix that - it's a worth the money.

    I bought this item with the idea that I'd crush all our cans and then save them to take to the local recycling company and get some money back. When this came in the mail I was excited and so ready to use it. My husband assembled it to the wall and I started my can crushing venture. The majority of cans it was going to be crushing were 12oz Cola cans. Within a few minutes of crushing I realized I had made a huge mistake in ordering this item. The cans were sometimes hard to crush and took a lot of "umpf". Admittedly some cans smashed easier than others. Some of the cans would fly out of the crusher mid-crush and fly half way across the kitchen. The cans have extremely sharp edges so that could be very dangerous. I know that all cans are going to be sharp once they're crushed so that isn't the issue that I have with it. My issue is that there isn't any safety measures on the crusher to stop the can from flying out. I stuck with my manual can crushing for about three months until the screws in the sides of the handle got loose and started to fall out. Eventually they were no longer screws, they were nails. All the grooves had been grind off from all the cans I was crushing. The handle was a loss and we taped it with duct tape. It's been months since I ordered this item and I no longer have it. I threw it away because it became wobbly; so it was a handle-less and wobbly sharp can launcher. I won't purchase it again. I spent $10 more than the price of this item and got an automatic can-crusher with a safety guard, and I'd suggest you get something else as well..

    Mounting it to the wall was nice & easy and it worked for a while but after less than 1 year of use the rivet / bolt holding the handle together just popped off and now it's a pain to both use and looks like an eye sore just dangling there when not being used to crush cans.

    Multiple other reviewers have had this same exact issue (see the reviews & attached photos for examples) so it's clearly a problem with the product itself and not how it's being used. Just increase the size of the bolt or whatever that holds the handle on so it doesn't pop off so easily and this will be a winning product @ fraction of the price of others listed.

    As it stands right now though with less than 1 Year of use on this it's hard to give it a positive score.

    Mounting it to the wall was nice & easy and it worked for a while but after less than 1 year of use the rivet / bolt holding the handle together just popped off and now it's a pain to both use and looks like an eye sore just dangling there when not being used to crush cans.

    Multiple other reviewers have had this same exact issue (see the reviews & attached photos for examples) so it's clearly a problem with the product itself and not how it's being used. Just increase the size of the bolt or whatever that holds the handle on so it doesn't pop off so easily and this will be a winning product @ fraction of the price of others listed.

    As it stands right now though with less than 1 Year of use on this it's hard to give it a positive score.
