Setting Up the Intech Golf Impact Bag

  1. Unfold the Intech Golf Impact Bag.
  2. Insert towels, clothes, sheets or any cloth-type material through the zippered opening. Do not over-stuff the bag or place heavy or hard objects inside to avoid injury or damage.
  3. Zip it up and you are ready to practice.

Usage with the Loop (optional)

There may be times where you want the bag to remain stationary or pivot. On the opposite side of the Intech logo, there is a loop at the bottom of the bag. This is for a cut-off shaft or alignment rod to be inserted through it and into the ground (not included). If you make an impact on the Intech logo and the bag does not spin, then you know you hit the bag with a square face. If the bag spins left, then you make an outside-in path (for a RH golfer), but if the bag spins right, an inside/out path was made.

Tips / Usage for Intech's Golf Practice Equipment

There are a multitude of ways you can use your Intech Golf Impact Bag to help improve your impact position as proven by the tens of thousands of instructional videos available on-line. You can consult your local PGA professional to provide you with drills to work on your individual golf game.

  1. Align yourself to the Intech Golf Impact Bag with the target being the center of the Intech logo (or the letter “e”).
  2. Make sure to position your hands ahead of the clubhead at address with the bag to promote solid contact. Over time, muscle memory and the sensation you encounter with the bag will develop the habit of hitting down with the club and keeping the hands ahead of the club.
  3. Swing no more than 75% of your natural swing; NEVER SWING AT 100%.

Like most: Feels durable and the right size. Could take a few strikes at it but worried that it will not hold.. We will see..Like least: That it does not come stuffed already. It took approx 5 tablecloths and a few napkins in it.I received this for my honest opinion and was not compensated.

I'm new to golf - ok not completely, new but my first round put me off for about 30 years until recently. Basically, and the reason escapes me, but I agreed to play the father of my prom date the morning after the prom.... That introduced a few problems for me. #1 I had become quite unstable at the prom and when I got back to my prom dates house after the big event, I managed to throw up in their downstairs bathroom. #2 the next morning I was severely dehydrated which if you are playing in the US is not a problem because they have a drinks cart - however I was playing in Ireland and we never got the memo about drinks carts.... #3 I was completely terrible at the game - this was in fact my first time playing. This burned a deep seated vow to never play again.

Fast forward 30 years and in my job at a development company for one of our projects we are building a huge golf hotel so my boss signed me up for golf lessons. This is where I first saw and used an impact bag. My coach has me using it for a portion of nearly every lesson. Initially he had me using it by just holding the bag and swinging it and letting it go to show me how swinging looks different to what I had been trying to do and putting too much force in the movement.

A few weeks later he had me use the bag as an impact bag and this made such a huge difference to be able to gage where my hands are at the point of impact. Before using the bag, all I knew every single time was that they were not in the right place, but without a bag or similar mechanism, it is really hard to develop the right strike habits.

The addition of the strike bag into my training has brought about the single most change for the better in my journey.

What i am learning about golf is that it is an intense game of the basics. I have been having lessons for 3 months and I watch people at the driving range who just want to see the ball go a long distance and they forgo the tedious efforts required in paying attention to the basics.

To make your journey faster and more productive, get this impact bag, throw in a few towels or other fabric, and set about showing a marked improvement by putting in 15 minutes per day over the next month or two - you won't regret it :)

The idea behind this bag is great. Unfortunately, I don't know if I'm repeating good habits or bad ones while hitting the bag. I would rather go play golf or go to the range and get an idea of the actual ball flight. I've used this bag with a video camera to try to see if my swing looks good. If you are looking for an impact bag, it seems to be made solidly and has held up fine during the times I use it. I would prefer something that can give feedback so I know if I'm doing something wrong, but I'm okay with this in between trips to the course or range.

This is a nice concept and works. The bag is well made and thick. It very much hits well. It helped me get my steady rhythm while swinging and has improved my game. It also is great for teaching my kiddos how to swing and hit the ball properly. Overall, I like it.

Bought this bag to help strengthen my right hand. followed the instructions on how to fill it, anchor it into the ground and not swing at 100%. Set myself to practice. Using my right hand only, took 3 half (50%) swings, the seams by the ground anchor tore.

My husband is a long time golfer and has accumulated many useful tools and a few gimmicks over the years. He likes this one. His words:

What I like about this Intech impact bag:
Ships and stores flat when not in use. Helps improve movement through the ball at impact. I have a tendency to slow my swing down at impact and this bag helps me feel the hip movement and shoulder rotation through the swing. Although the club stops when it hits the bag the shoulders, hips and legs keep turning. This is good practice for me in correcting a bad habit. For this drill I try to swing no more than 70% power. That's the sweet spot for me to get the proper feel. It is also a good warm-up prior to heading to the course.

There is a loop to clip onto if you can't place it against something solid. Since it ships empty I stuffed it with old bedding and towels. Just so you know, it does make a bit on noise when striking it. As with many of these reviews, we have to just see how durable it is. I'll report back if anything shows up after continued use.

This impact bag measures 16 inches in diameter and 10 inches tall. It appears to be made of a very durable coated fabric that seems that it would stand up to a lot of use. It has a nylon strap-type handle on the top, under which lies the zipper that is used to install the towels or other soft materials that can be used to fill the bag for use. There is a plastic anchor loop on the bottom that could be used to anchor it to something solid to keep from having to consistently have to chase it after striking it. Now, I must admit that I am an intermediate golfer at best. With that, my main takeaways from using the bag is that it provides a durable, soft impact surface that can be used to swing a club and just practice the swing for purposes such as loosening up after injury, etc. While you could conceivably feel an open or closed club face at impact, I’m not that certain that there is a tremendous amount of actual feedback value that could be gained in reference to the swing. I certainly wouldn’t agree with the promo statement “Use at home to provide same quality practice time as hitting countless balls at the range”. There is also the issue of the noise. If used outside, especially in a fairly populated area, the loud noise that it makes at impact could certainly irritate neighbors. If used inside, I think you’d pretty much have to use earplugs. There may be other users that are more experienced golfers than I that might know of more valuable uses, but as for me, I’ll give it two stars.
