    Our over the range $600 microwave finally died after 7 yrs so I broke down and got this one, because this busy household can't go a day without one. I love the 30 second button. Pop your food in, press the 30 second button once for 30 seconds or if you need more time you press it once for each additional 30 seconds. Super quick for us lazy folks. Cooks food fast and doesn't make bread hard. I'm not sure I can say that about our expensive one. This is a great deal, as I saw the exact Toshiba Microwave in a popular retail store for $50 more. It has lots of preset buttons , although I've not used them all. Potato, rice, frozen pizza, veggies, frozen entree, sensor reheat, soften/melt, custom cook, popcorn, 1hr defrost, and more. Includes a timer button and a favorite button as well. The black and chrome design is aesthetically pleasing and goes well with our all stainless steel appliances. It was easy to set up, and comes with a glass turntable. You can even mute the beep sound it makes every time you press a button. Nice for those early mornings when hubby is sleeping and I don't want to wake him with the sound of the microwave beeping. I definitely recommend this Toshiba Microwave. Don't think twice , it's a great price.

    Update: it has been 4 months now and this microwave is still working great. I am now used to all the presets and how the microwave functions and I can say that I really like it. At first I thought it might be a little too powerful but after using it frequently, I really like it.

    Original review: I read a bunch of Amazon reviews before picking this microwave. It seems there are equal amounts of good and bad reviews for almost every model out there which surprised me. Couldn't find any model that people just raved about so I crossed my fingers and just hoped that this microwave I picked worked straight out of the box. Lucky for me, it did! I have now been using it for a little over a month.

    So there are lots of pluses and a couple of minuses with this microwave. One of the pluses is that I found it easy to use. It's pretty self-explanatory and the buttons are fairly easy to figure out. However there is also a minus coming up. Kind of a big one. I think it is relatively easy to set the timer for the wrong amount of time. I figured that out after I just about set a piece of cornbread with butter on fire and smoke came billowing out of my microwave. Yes, facepalm. Not one of my best moments. I like to think that I am pretty tech-savvy and meant to hit 20 seconds and instead I hit the 2 which set it automatically for two minutes and didn't realize it. You actually have to hit the clock time button to bypass the presets. If you aren't used to this it is easy to accidentally mess it up. I also didn't double check it and well let's just say I had every window open in my place for the next four hours and fans running. Smelled like burnt popcorn. Lol. Not my most stellar moment.

    Which brings me to the next good and bad thing. This is a fairly powerful microwave. I think actually it may be a little too powerful for my liking. Yes it does cook things very quickly but the downside is... Wait for it....that it cooks things very quickly. Ha. Basically, I think that it is easy to overcook your food. After getting used to it it hasn't been too bad but I definitely feel that I need to keep my eye on it instead of just forgetting it. That may just be because of the cornbread thing but just saying, I am not comfortable just leaving it to do is thing yet.

    The last thing I'll mention is it is not a quiet microwave. I live alone so it really doesn't matter to me but if you're looking for something that isn't very noisy this is definitely not the microwave for you. The door opening and closing is really loud and even though you can turn off the beep I think just the mechanics of the machine will keep this from being the ideal choice for you. It is pretty loud when it is running too and occasionally makes a weird crackling noise. When this happens inevitably it makes one eyebrow go up. I look at the microwave for a moment, because it typically doesn't last very long, and ponder whether I am really supposed to be hearing that type of noise from said microwave. Still not sure.
    Anywho, over all this model isn't too bad. However honestly if I had to choose over again, I think I might get one with a lower wattage. Good luck!

    I was going through my past orders and didn't realize I hadn't reviewed this yet, which is crazy because I feel like evangelizing about it, I love it that much.

    I've had this oven for 3 years now, and I couldn't possibly be happier with it. It functions well, it's really easy to use and clean, and best of all NO BEEPING. The silent operation of this oven is its best feature and the primary reason I ordered it. I know most people are probably happy to operate it with the beeping sounds, but if having the option to silence all beeping sounds is as essential to you as it was to me then this is your oven.

    Once in awhile when the power goes out I'll have to reset the silent mode when I reset the clock, but other than that I never hear any beeping from it whatsoever. Not when the buttons are pressed, not when the cooking cycle is done.

    I've seen some reviews saying it's loud when cooking, but it's no louder than any other microwave - I don't know what these people are talking about. All microwaves make some noise when cooking.

    Have had this microwave for about a month now, bought it to replace my 20-year old Panasonic that had suddenly started taking much longer to heat. Chose this because it also has the convection/air fryer function. The 'regular' oven function works great - heats fast (minutes) and cooks well (chicken wings, roasted garlic) - very useful alternative to using a full oven. The microwave timer is set with a dial, and changes time increments as you pass 60 seconds, 5 min, etc. This is a bit annoying, but only because I am used to entering an exact number on the keypad of my last oven. Still getting used to the individual features and "quirks' of this oven, so I keep the manual close by. Clock very easy to set. Stainless steel interior is easy to clean, but recommend always covering the top of 'messy' food as the ceiling of the oven has an element, making it harder to access for cleaning.
