An American Icon

Product Description
Whether you're a trying to improve your fitness, crush your morning commute, or take your ride to the next level, the 700c Schwinn vantage F3 is the ride for you. This sleek Sport hybrid doubles as a flat bar road bike for the perfect combination of durability, versatility and speed. The key is the Schwinn smooth ride technology (S.R.T.) aluminum endurance frame. S.R.T. inserts an elastomer isolation unit with 15 millimeters of travel between the seat stays and the seat tube for a little extra give, which works to dampen vibrations and absorb bumps without added bike weight. You won't lose any lateral stiffness, so S.R.T. lets you ride harder and longer while maintaining an incredibly smooth ride. The 21-speed drivetrain with trigger shifters offers a wide and versatile gear range, while alloy mechanical disc brakes help you stop at a moment's notice. Rack and fender mounts conveniently let you customize the ride, great for daily commuters or weekend campers. The vantage F3 allows you to run errands, commute to work on a gravel road and get in your workout all in the same day. All Schwinn bikes come with a limited lifetime for as long as you own the bike. Enjoy the freedom of riding a Schwinn. Note: all product weights do not include pedals and are based on a medium frame size, but the bike does come with pedals.

I just happen to see these available and snagged one in the few hours they were posted. My boyfriend couldn’t believe I found and bike online and bought immediately.. He was worried it would not be a god bike since it seemed too good to be true. When it came he immediately started putting it together. It only took maybe half an hour and only that long because the front wheel was slightly tricky. We took it out for a ride asap.
The ride was smooth! I did feel maybe a slight wobble on the front wheel. This may have been me paranoid though since I watched him struggle with the wheel. He is going to ride it and see and take to the local bike shop if needed.
Overall, fantastic little bike. At first I thought I settled on it because I had my eye on another, but after riding it was great! It felt so great to really get out there and get some exercise. It is a starter bike for me, but perfect! A good deal too with how much I spent and since we easily assembled ourselves. Best purchase I have made on Amazon in a while!
Ride on this bike and all components are worse than a 20 year old low end Cannondale I bought five years ago for $200. I should have went for the Tommaso at this price point, don't make the same mistake i did, try to buy and an American icon and it turns out to be a horrible experience.
I've bought some items from Chinese Companies with better service and better replacement options.
This company makes everything in China and dropped the ball worse than fully Chinese companies. I have less trouble ordering scooter parts straight from china.
This is for the Vantage F3-Medium black. I've had it less than a week, but so far, so good. Not too difficult to put together, although getting the front wheel in just right for the disc brake was a little tricky. At first look, I thought the seat would be too high (I'm just shy of 5'7"), but after my first couple of rides I'm very happy with the height. I was going to have the bike seat post shortened, but it's actually perfect. Super smooth (paved road) ride, very light, and the gears are wonderful. Last bike was about 20+ years old... I may end up getting a cushier seat. We'll see.

UDATE JUNE 5, 2020, after two years and eight months I haven’t many problems other than replacing three spokes on the rear wheel. I weigh 245 pounds so some unexpected bumps can be hard on the spokes. I took it to my bike guy thinking I had one spoke broken and he said I had three. I was kind of embarrassed. So I clean the chain with kerosene with a chain brush and use WD-40 bicycle chain lube on the chain and then wipe it dry. In between the kerosene wash and applying the WD-40 I wash down the chain and 91% isopropyl alcohol to get a good drying affect and let everything dry really well, overnight before applying WD 40 bicycle chain lube.
The spoke replacements cost me $30 so that’s my total maintenance cost since the time that I have owned the bike.
OCTOBER 28,2020 UPDATE FAIRNESS: When I received this bicycle in a box I took it to my bike guy and had him assemble it I think it was for 40 or $50 including tuning and whatever else but I live in the Midwest and he does this on the side from his machine shop job. I also live in the country and not in a big city. Well now I do need to have my gears tuned a little bit for the 567 and 8 so that will cost me about $35. But I will give the chain a good wash with kerosene 91% Iopropyl alcohol and WD 40 bicycle chain lube first and see what happens. 99% of the time it fixes most problems. And I have not cleaned my chain for about a couple months.
UPDATE 10/27/2022: My bike man thinks I received a bad set of wheels. He has over 40 years of experience and owns his own machine shop of several tens of thousands of square feet that includes plasma laser cutters advanced CNC machines and he can even build bicycles. Since owning the bicycle we have replaced approximately 15 spokes on the rear wheel alone and approximately two on the front. He said he has a couple customers that way well over 300 pounds on bicycles that have no spark problems. so earlier this year in 2022 I purchased a pair of Bucklos carbon fiber hub straight spoke wheel sets and Continental Gatorskin tires and tubes 700 x 25C. They are essentially bald tires and they have improved the performance of the bike immensely by reducing the rolling resistance by about 25%. Also, no spoke breakage. With straight spokes it is very uncommon to break I spoke unlike J-spokes which are curved at the hub. As my bike man says, and he has no hyperbole in his vocabulary, a good set of wheels is the most beneficial improvement anyone can make to a bicycle.
Therefore I downgraded my rating from a five star to a four star. Mainly because he had never seen anything like this when he had the bike shop open for 20 years.
