I found it fairly easy to setup. I like that when I set it to MILES it stays on Miles, even from day-to-day. You can easily click through the Modes as needed. I was afraid it was going to want to default to Steps. You can also RESET at any time, another thing I was afraid wouldn't work when I thought its focus was daily step count. All counts are automatically reset every day. When hiking, I may want to reset at the beginning of any trail, so I'm happy that I can reset at any time. It's battery operated, my old one was mechanical.
You set your step length in inches which I like better than my old one in decimal feet, e.g. 2.3', now I can set to 26". This probably accounts for the slight difference in mileage.
However, after three months of use I had to change the rating and hence review………...
The OZO Pedometer worked very well for the few months.
Then after few months I noticed that whilst jogging, the Pedometer kept randomly resetting to zero.
Firstly I must say that this OZO pedometer is cleverly designed, the display is clear and large and very accurate when it's functioning, I had really liked it. It was disappointing that this very smart looking unit is faulty.
Most of the times the pedometer works fine, but when it malfunctions it can be very frustrating and annoying. From April 2019 to today I have encountered the problem at least three times.
I jog 8 km from 5:00 am every day; I am not sure any more whether I will be able to check the distance etc when jogging.
Initially I thought that it was a battery problem so I replaced the battery and reset the unit to factory default to no avail.
I then thought, perhaps my hand could have been inadvertently making contact with the set button while jogging, so I tried relocating it to different parts of my track pants to the front, to the side etc. but the problem persisted.
I checked online for reviews of this product and realised that I am not singular in this respect with this problem. On Amazon 28% of users gave it a negative rating. Clearly something is wrong with this pedometer.
I will have to revert to my three-year-old Omron HJ325.
The Omron survived two accidental cycles in the Washer and the Dryer and it still functions very well. (It was slightly bruised in these incidents hence the reason I ordered the OZO)
I have grasped from this issue that it’s better to stick with my Omron pedometer.
It has served me well over the years.
