I gave this 5 stars because it does what you'd expect a lock to do. Metal on U-lock seems basic, but sturdy. Probably couldn't use bolt cutters to get through that, though an angle grinder would likely slice through in little time. I like that the key hole has a plastic part that slides over it. It hid where the key went quite well when I first got it as I couldn't find it for a frustrating amount of time (it's in the middle of the bottom of the horizontal portion of the U-lock). The cable is nice because it's flexible, but straightens out easily unlike the coiled ones that are stiff and often get twisted and tangled.
The key to the lock seems a bit flimsy though, which stinks because it would have probably cost them an extra 5¢ to upgrade the material. It is a reverse-cut key though, which makes the lock harder to pick or get a key blank in there. Key has held up through everyday wear on my keychain so I didn't subtract a star for the key (you get two). I got the lock to protect a putzy moped and works for that purpose. I did look through several options and this seemed the best. Not disappointed.
