I just came back from a trip in the Glacier park in Montana. That was the reason I bought the hydration backpack.
We hiked an average of 10 to 12 miles in the mountains every day, and it was pretty warm. I bought the hydration bladder on the advice of the leader, and boy was I happy with this !!
1) Very confortable ! most backpacks cut in your shoulders somehow...not this one ! Even with the added weight of water and clothes, it remained confortable for the whole 6 hours we were on the trail!
2) Space: plenty of space ! the bag had different pockets, all with zippers, so you don't lose anything. Besides the 2 liters of water, I had room for 2 containers for lunch, a rain jacket, my wallet, my phone, an extra bottle of water ,suntan lotion and a packable down jacket! So very roomy, even though the backpack is pretty small !
3) There has been questions from people about the strap . It is actually a chest strap, but....you are able to move the strap up or down a little, so you can adjust it the way you want. Actually, I placed it under my breasts, and that was a great idea because placed that way the bag didn't flap on my back! It stayed pretty snug , which was way more confortable for me!
It didn't rain,so I cannot tell you about that, but all in all, I think it is a very good buy at a very reasonable price !
