DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER IT WILL MAKE YOU CRY.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER IT WILL MAKE YOU CRY.
Update 1/1/20: You'd think I'd be used to this printer being crap, but no! I went to cancel instant ink and before I did got this notification: "HP Instant Ink cartridges will no longer work after my final enrollment month. I will need to purchase regular cartridges." ... wut... so the cartridges I already got by having this stupid instant ink thing for like a year won't work now? HP IS THE VERY WORST.Update 11/13: I'm gonna be real with ya'all. I can't take this much longer. I. just. want. to. scan. something. I don't update this review every time something goes wrong with it, just when it goes wrong and crushes a little of my soul with it. I just want to scan something. I got it printing a couple days ago (after dealing with error messages) and now I just... want to scan the thing. And it's not letting me. I've been paying for "instant ink" every month but since this POS keeps malfunctioning I never print enough for that to be worth it. So on top of SEVERELY over paying for this, I've just be shoveling more pointless money to HP without thinking about it. I.... I can't keep doing this... I am also distraught to see I'm not the one one who updates their review with frustrations. PLEASE. PLEASE DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE. PLEASE. I'm going to have to go out and buy a different (NON-HP) printer because I can't take this stupid thing anymore. It was a huge waste of money. There are cheaper ones that do the same things better. Don't buy this. Please. I just... I can't let others make this mistake. PLEASE.UPDATE 10/22: Got it working earlier, but now it wants to update and won't print, but it's also saying it can't find the printer. It's listed just all greyed out. I'm exhausted, just wanted to print a recipe, and don't have time right now to spend half an hour troubleshooting the printer yet again.UPDATE 10/6: Just wanted to print a calendar real quick and POOF not working. Yet again.UPDATE 9/3: It's still doing that saving thing listed below, but somehow it's now on my computer as two seperate printers and for a while that was fine because one saved and one printed. Now it shows as "offline". I've tried their fix program, reinstalled everything, unplugged then replugged it. I HATE. THIS. PRINTER. The ONLY bright side to this thing is that I've learned how to edit PDF files because it's far less work than trying to grapple with this for work-related printing.UPDATE: I'm so mad at this thing, I'm just going to write down every time I want to throw it against a wall. I've had two different forms I need to fill out and both it won't let me print, it just keeps trying to save them (even though one was already saved to my computer). Two different sources entirely, so I can only figure it's the printer being weird today. Because I need these forms, so OF COURSE it is.UPDATE: Attaching a screenshot of the ridiculously tiny error message I got after installing updates to my printer. After updating it, it will no longer scan (aka the primary function I need it to do for work) and I have to figure out why now. I hate this thing.UPDATE: From 3 stars to 1 star. I see now why instant ink is such a bargain. The quality of photos this prints is abysmal. I'm not expecting print shop quality or anything, but it doesn't handle red colors well at all. It decided a bunch of red hair worked best as one red mass. It also has VERY LITTLE in the way of controls of quality so there isn't much you can do. For printing out work related black and white forms, this printer is fine, but if you want it to be able to print nicely in color buy something else.I also ran into an issue with black not printing. Tried cleaning the heads at least twice. I put in a new cartridge even though the printer said it still had plenty then it worked normally. :\ This makes me really weary of the instant ink set up since I'm not sure if I voided it or anything by installing it early. I also see my ink levels jump around and there is no option to suggest it's time for more ink. So I've just been sending them money every month hoping they know whats going on. Not a fan.DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER. ANY SAVINGS ARE NOT EQUAL TO THE YEARS OF YOUR LIFE THE STRESS OF IT WILL TAKE OFF. I thought my Epson printer was bad, but it was still so. so. so much better than this. I will probably never buy an HP product again. :|--------------------------------------------------I needed a scanner printer, but I realllly needed the scanner feature. I was disappointed at the size it would scan considering how big the printer is. The printer also doesn't hold much paper, which can be a pain.I got the paid Instant Ink, and I like it more than having the printer fuss at me when it's half way down like my epson did before I moved. However, I don't like that I can't connected it directly to my computer and that I feel like the Instant Ink spies on what I'm doing more than I would like. It also isn't fun to constantly be trying to remember how many pages you've printed. It feels like I'm renting my own printer. I'm still going to run with it for now because I'm not printing much, but in the future when I'm printing more I'll absolutely need a different printer and won't be doing instant ink.

This is a great printer. It was super easy to set up, connects every time to multiple devices and the print quality is pretty decent. I bought this to print out any notices that I write for tenants, but I’ve also printed off full manuals/checklist as well as etickets! I love the compact design, it blends well with my decor. As you can see I don’t have a desk (don’t even have an office for that matter). So it’s actually sitting on my dresser. I was worried it would be an eyesore...but it’s really not! I also love the hp ink program! In today’s busy lifestyle this is such a saviour! The ink is affordable and super easy to swap out. My 8 year old can do it.
