But back to the HD10. The reason I don't like tablets is I find them to be too small for me to comfortably utilize. (I too had the smaller version as my toddler, gave that to his father to use as the screen size didn't work for my eyes and fat fingers). So when I saw they had a 10 inch, I was like yeah baby. I knew from my earlier version that I could indeed get Chrome, Play Store, etc. All the things I need to make an electronic device work for me.
I'm not a tech gal so I cannot compare to other tablets, but when I have it sitting on my desk I use it as a tv and stream my favourite shows to watch as I work (I telecommute so I need something going in the background. I get the same quality picture on this (to my untrained novice eyes) as I do on my 55-inch television. As long as I have good wifi (and I do since both the significant other and I telecommute so we have business internet) no lagging or anything.
I bought this because I hate having to lug around a laptop, I find it to be too big and bulky, I use public transportation and my 17-inch laptop is not fun to travel with. I hooked this bad boy up via Bluetooth to a full-size wireless keyboard and wireless mouse, and of course my actual Bluetooth headphone, which is how I typically listen to the tablet. So I'm able to use great. As you can see I downloaded all my cute little Chrome apps.
The description says it does not include Alexa hands-free but mine does. This means I can give my Echo Dot to my son and not purchase a new one for him.
If I had bought the adult version it would have come with only a 1-year warranty and not the great two-year total warranty, including a cracked screen. It is the exact same tablet with the exact same tablet. I know as I bought the adult version too, and returned it after I confirmed they were the same. I have since ordered a second one for my toddler who is now 6. He loves mine so much he doesn't like his small one anymore.
At this point in time the adult version is about $30 cheaper, but with the two-year warranty on the kid's version, I say it's worth the extra $30.
Oh yeah the one I had that I gave to my S.O. , well he managed to crack the screen after the two-year warranty expired but is still able to use it today (it's now almost 4 years old) so when the 2nd one arrives he'll get the kiddo's rejected small one.
