EYEPIECES

ABOUT MAGNIFICATION OF TELESCOPE

  • The focal length of the eyepiece, combined with the focal length of the telescope, determine the magnification power.
  • To calculate the power of your telescope with any particular eyepiece, simply divide the focal length of the telescope (400mm) by the focal length of the eyepiece (indicated in “mm” on the eyepiece collar). For example, when you use the eyepiece K20mm with this telescope, the magnification will be 20X.
  • Normally, a telescope offers a upside down image, this telescope comes with the 45 ° Diagonal Prism so you can always achieve the erect images when you view the landscape.
  • The 3X Barlow lens can triple the magnification factor provided by the telescope.
  • This 70mm Refractor Telescope comes with 2 interchangeable eyepieces (K9mm & K20mm) and 3X Barlow lens which you can enjoy different magnifications from 20X to 132X.

How to use the SmartPhone Adapter

Step 1: Adjust the width of the clamp to make it easier to put your cell phone in, then fix your cell phone to the adapter.

Step 2: Fix the clamp to the eyepiece of your telescope or binoculars, then adjust and center the phone's camera right to the lens of the eyepiece. Once it's centered, tighten the knob and re-secure your phone.

NOTE: The image you see from the phone at the beginning is just a small circle size, please zoom the camera to see the full screen image.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) How far can I see?

Besides the moon, with the aid of a telescope, you will be able to enjoy exciting views of Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s major moons, the Orion Nebula, and much more in good weather conditions.

WARNING! NEVER aim your Telescope and Binoculars at the sun or even close to the sun!

2) Why can’t I see anything?

If you see only gray or black when looking through your telescope, it is very likely that you are using an eyepiece that is too powerful. To solve this problem: Always start with the lowest power eyepiece first, and only insert the higher power eyepiece after you have located an object.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

3) When I use my high power eyepiece, everything looks much darker. Why?

As magnification in a telescope increases, brightness diminishes. Conversely, brightness increases when magnification is reduced. If an image appears too dark or unclear, use a lower-powered eyepiece. Views of small, bright objects are superior to those of large, dark or blurry ones! Atmospheric conditions, air currents, as well as light and air pollution also affect viewing quality.

4) As I look through my telescope, objects in the sky appear to move. Why is that?

The constant rotation of the earth makes things appear to move. Lower-power eyepieces will reduce this effect of movement considerably and allow you to observe an object for a longer duration before you have to readjust your telescope.
