This matcha is not too bitter, dissolves well, and doesn't taste like seaweed, wet dog, or muddy swamp like others. The color is bright green and it tastes better than Encha's more affordable Latte grade matcha, which is more expensive than this.
I enjoy one teaspoon of this matcha in 4 fluid ounces (1/2 cup) of water with a half teaspoon of raw organic honey every morning. The most important thing to avoid is overheating the water. If you overheat the water, the tea will become bitter. I've found putting the 4 fluid ounces of water into the microwave for 1 minute on high makes it the perfect temperature and not too hot to drink immediately. I mix the elixir with a milk frother, which creates a nice frothy head and completely dissolves the powder.
For those folks like me looking for a drinkable, affordable, matcha green tea powder that (a) blows away the swamp mud, dull camouflage-green, starter matcha; (b) beats the taste of other culinary grade matcha; and (c) competes with mid-level ceremonial matcha, I recommend giving this one a try. No more coffee crash and all the benefits of green tea every day for me! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

After extensive research and getting overwhelmed (!) with all of the different options available on Amazon, I finally decided to try this one out. Since this is my first culinary matcha, I really only have experience to compare it to ceremonial matches. Overall, I would say it stands up well to an inexpensive ceremonial matcha. The color is not quite as vibrant (it is a duller and darker green; see photo), the flavor profile is somewhat muted, and it is not quite as smooth/velvety on the tongue in comparison to the ceremonial when both are prepared exactly the same (1 tsp. matcha + 70 mL water at 75C/167F). With all of that said, I was not expecting the quality to be the same as a ceremonial grade, but for the price, this one surely is a great value for regular day-to-day drinking. Since its flavor is less robust, I haven't had much luck making a great soy milk latte, but I do enjoy this matcha on its own and mixed with ice and plain sparkling water.
