Inflating it is simple as long as you know how to plug into a wall and flip a switch, if you don’t know how to do this I suggest you not buy anything electrical. To deflate, simply plug in, and once again... flip a switch. Now, I don’t like to fold it and put it back in the bag once My guests leave so I decided to be the creepy hostess and force company into the basement but not without appropriate accommodations.
My husband I decided to sleep on it in the basement, as we have many kids that seem to never leave, so the basement could be a get away. That mattress is still up to this day, inflated and very comfortable. It has been in the basement, used every night for approximately 3 months straight. It’s very resilient bc we’ve had kids, cats and myself all over it. I put a little air in it once a week and truthfully it probably doesn’t need it.
It sits high off the ground so its easy To get off and on it if your like me and have back problems. It’s comfortable enough to sleep on it every night. It hold up very well, we’ve had plenty of weight on it considering once 4-5 ppl lied on it to watch a movie in the living room (adults plus kids).
I’m buying a second one bc my 11 year old loves it and wants one in her room instead of her bed she has. I have bought 40-50 air mattresses in the past and they’ve all went bad after 3 or more uses. Won’t stay deflated, too hard to get up out of floor, hard to inflate etc. this is the best air mattress I’ve ever bought and highly recommend it.
Ps.. the guests that were doomed to the basement are not pleased to be upgraded to an upstairs room with a plain bed that consist of a normal mattress and box springs.
Pss... the “guests” are our grown kids that won’t seem to ever leave their parents homes.
Happy buying!
The velour surrounding it is awesome. Sheets cling to it very nicely! The size referenced in the ad 72x80x18 is pretty much spot on. A standard king is 76x80. I was hoping that the 4" wouldn't make a difference but it is quite a lot once I put the airbed on the platform (another reviewer suggested that if you are putting the airbed on a platform to use the cardboard from the packaging and once cut to size, put it on the platform slats, which I did and it seems to work great).
I would probably be happy with it on my platform bed if I hadn't ordered one that is a full 18" tall. I pretty much have to climb up on the bed, so even though it is only 4" short (2" on each side), I decided I need to go with about a 10" airbed. Since I took a chance on this size, I'm not going to return it. It wouldn't be fair. They would probably have to throw it out due to Covid (that's what Big Lots does - toss the returns). So I'll keep the 18" mattress for my spare room. If it was shoddy mattress, I would return it, I took my chances with the size.
I recommend this mattress. Remember inflate, deflate, inflate again and deflate maybe once more so it stretches a bit. You may have to add air every three days or so, but it's worth it. Not much air, just a little due to temperature changes etc. Maybe in another week it will settle into it's "happy spot" and added air won't be needed. It's so easy to add, I don't know why people complain. Intex is a good brand -- they have been around a long time! So now I'm off hunting down a 10-12 inch for my platform bed. Hope this review helps! =)
this location but I did want to provide comfortable sleeping for guests when needed. This was an inexpensive solution while being easily set up and later taken down with minimal effort and planning. I have only used this one once but my sister has had the same brand for years so I expect it will last for years.
I will say that the ease of inflating and deflating is quite convenient, but it got old doing this on a daily basis. I decided to leave it up (and taking over the area in front of the fireplace in the family room). It IS a very nice airbed, and I definitely would purchase it again and recommend it. Knowing that anything that depends on inflation to access use is bound to lose air, as there is no vinyl that has zero percentage of porous properties. Think about the tires on your vehicle, and that cinches that "argument."
I do appreciate the 3 tubular air pockets on all sides that substantiate extra side wall support, as well. It really does feel like you're sitting on the edge/side of a regular mattress.

This was used straight out of the box and ruined my first camping trip of the year. 3 nights sleeping on rocks was super awesome. I bought the intex brand because I had a queen bed of theres that lasted 13 years. I wouldn't buy an air bed with removable pump ever again.
My husband and I had to sleep on it for 3 weeks while waiting on a bed delivery after moving. In that three weeks, we might of added just a tiny bit of air 2 or 3 times. It was firm and comfortable. I almost forgot it was an airmattress. For the price! Totally worth it, and Queen size too. Highly recommend for anyone who wants an air mattress that makes it through the night and season.
Update: I contacted the company about the defective one and have not yet had a response from anyone. Therefore
I have adjusted my rating to 1 star. If a company does not stand behind their product there is no point in buying from them.
Update: Finally I just received a replacement air mattress. It was a long arduous process and I had given up. Then it arrived. So yes these mattresses are wonderful and comfortable and yes the company does stand behind their warranty BUT be ready to be patient and persistent.
