It has been working great, no volume issues or no connection issues (recently it started a 4 second cycle of disconnecting and reconnecting but cycling my router fixed that.) I have only had problems moving from Android 4.4.2 to version 8.1 and figuring out how to do the things in the newer OS that I was doing in the older. I am disappointed at the loss of a setting in the notification panel to change the screen timeout function quickly. To change that appears to require diving into the system settings each time. The screen is a nice upgrade shows photos beautifully. I haven't used the camera a lot but it appears to take great photos and works in low light much better than my old one.
Battery life is, of course, shorter than previously but I expect that with the power drain of a larger screen and hasn't been a problem, especially since I keep the things I am not using turned off, like GPS and WIFI.
I use very little data time when out and usually only use WIFI when at home.
I guess the biggest drawback of the Stylo 4 is how Tracfone has kept the memory at a minimum level of usability for a current model. It still has the same amount of memory as my 5 year old LG and can put a severe limitation on how many applications can be installed, especially considering programs usually get bigger in newer OSes on newer hardware. I am pleased with my purchase and really like the added features of the newer OS. Now if I could just find a nice tutorial for everything on Android 8.1 and not just the few basic functions needed to be able to use it.
Tracfone has always been behind the curve in offering features, their latest offerings have always been several models and years behind the latest phones available, you just have to know that going in. It has never been a problem for me, I don't need the latest and greatest. I have been using Tracfones for a couple of decades or more (since my first flip-phone) and have been able save a ton of money over most plans that require a large monthly payment even if I didn't make any calls or texts or use data. For the cost of a phone every few years and a one-year service card annually I have not put much money into having cell service thru Tracfone.
~First of all, I love the phone itself, and the battery is awesome for the average user, it works for several days.
We already had Tracfone service as a choice to not spend $35+ monthly, we just buy the cards. It was incredibly easy to upgrade to this phone online. It took like 5 min. and the Stylo 4 was working! I waited a few minutes and it started upgrading, or perhaps I went to the upgrade center on the phone, I forget but I think it did it on its own. I think it upgraded 2 times, maybe 3.
There is so much to love about this phone from my perspective. The screen size is awesome, the stylus is well made and phone fits my hand just fine. I was worried based on some reviews, but it fits my lil' ole lady hands just fine. The difference in size is length, not width if you've had an LG phone. I took my SD card out of my old, put in the new with no issues whatsoever, now I have plenty of storage.
~I LOVE using the microphone for texting, rather than typing!! I love the calendar, (add appointments by voice) all of which are in the upgrades to Oreo, I think. Be sure to let it upgrade several times.
~So much to love. Still learning all about it. Love it so much, got one for DH also and it is working beautifully as well.
~No issues at this point, and love the phone, and the stylus is plenty study enough for ppl who know how to take care of things.
~~~Would recommend, and would buy again for sure!
Also it does not have fast charging which is a lie and the battery is terrible. My fiesta 2 can stream movies or play games for 24 hours before hitting 15%... This one hits 15% after 4/5 hours of browsing reddit.
