Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I wanted to replace my current rig, which is still perfectly fine, with something smaller.
Pros:
- Dual Band Onboard Wifi / Gigabit Lan
- Onboard HDMI 2 / Display Port
- USB 3.1 (Type A and C)
- Aura Sync Headers
- RBG LEDs on the back
- AIO Water Cooler power header
- Plenty of Fan headers
- USB 3.1 Gen1 header
- USB 3.1 Gen 2 header
- UEFI is fast and intuitive
- 4 Sata ports, if you still use that. (I don't)
- Nice ROG logo on boot (if you can see it because it boots up so fast)
- The best part of thing about this board is that it has 2 M.2 slots and I used them both
Cons:
- The biggest con is that there is only 1 USB 2.0 header. It's a con if you're planning on doing RGB set up in your rig because depending on what you run, you may need more than 1
- I wish there were RGB LEDs on the board heat sinks too like the bigger boards, but it would have mostly be blocked off by a fan.
- Routing the HD Audio, USB 2.0, and Front Panel cables to their headers can be a pain. There's not enough room to go under the graphics card. I had to go on top. It doesn't look as clean but it is what it is.
Tips:
- For a cleaner look, you can get a right angle adapter for the USB 3 gen 1 header https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FN1KW81/ or as USB 3 gen 2 to gen 1 adapter https://www.amazon.com/MagiDeal-Front-Panel-Header-Extension/dp/B07FLFWPZJ. I opted for the right angle adapter
- I also used individually braided cables because the 24-pin power was a pain to get in and it was blocking air flow
- Stick to one RGB system. ASUS uses Aura Sync. If you care about syncing all your colors with one software, then buy ASUS Aura Sync components like an ASUS GPU, ASUS AIO Cooler, etc. (I didn't, but I wish I did)
- I used the NZXT internal USB hub to get more USB 2 headers for my RGB set up
- All black is hard to work with, so get lots of lighting help. A LED head lamp should come in handy.
- Magnetized tipped #2 phillips screw driver is a must
My Specs:
Case: NZXT H200i
CPU: i7 9700K
Cooler: NZXT Kraken X52 (Love that infinite mirror look)
GPU: EVGA RTX 2070 (8GB Ram with RGB)
Storage: 2 500GB Samsung EVO 970 NVMe PCIe M.2 (no need for the Pro version when the EVO is just as fast)
RAM: 32GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB DDR4 3200 (overkill, but oh well... it looks cool)
PSU: EVGA Supernova 750W G3

What I'll be using this rig for: Shopping on Amazon
- the intel 9560 wifi has a bug where the drivers will stop working suddenly for no reason, and must do a combo of reinstalling the drivers and maybe resetting the bios. I havent got it figured out just what assortment needs to be done. if it keeps happening i may just get a usb wifi adapter.
-To get the asus multi-core enhancement (mce) to work you must enable the feature, then select sync all cores. That is not what info on the internet says to do. To disable the mce you need to reset the bios. Simply turning off mce will not do it as it changes tons of settings which do not get reset when you disable mce.
When you order your board, I recommend that you go to the ASUS website and download the latest drivers and bios onto a USB thumb drive. Their boards come with a CD of drivers, but who uses CD drives anymore, but there will inevitably be more up-to-date drivers on the ASUS website. One note, on their website, click the "expand all" link on their drive download page, because they will just show you the first driver for each category when a category like Utilities has multiple drivers you'll need.
When your board arrives it's important to test it right away, making sure you save every single piece of packaging! Your first test should be to install your CPU and memory DIMMS, connect your power, and boot into the bios. Confirm that the system recognizes all of the memory that you installed (a common issue with ASUS boards, especially 4 channel boards). Next, confirm that the bios version is the latest and if not use the update tool within the bios (no need to have a drive/OS installed yet) to update to the latest version from your USB thumb drive. If after updating the bios, the memory is all still registering and running at XMP, then you should be good to move forward.
If you have any issues with this initial testing, repackage every component back inside the original packaging and return the board to the seller [I add a piece of masking tape across the box with "faulty board" so that it doesn't just go back into circulation and gets shipped to someone else]. Don't try ASUS tech support, etc. Just return it to the seller, and reorder from a different seller! Trust me, you'll save yourself days of headaches!
So if ASUS has so many problems why continue to use them? Their feature-set is hard to beat, and their driver-support is actually better than most, and once you source a working board, you'll usually get many many years of use. Though, I do recommend buying the 4-year extended warranty, as trying to get hardware support/replacement directly from ASUS is very difficult!
edit: the board kept bluescreening due to a power issue. I presume something overall was wrong with and maybe defective. I've changed my review to 5 star as the replacement board had far better screws and worked fine.
