I like this soap! The smell is really invigorating. When I first opened the box, I was really excited to use it the same day because it just smelt so great!

In terms of skin improvements, the first few days of use, my body skin felt soft but I saw some bumps on my face, and I wasn't pleased with that. I typically do not have bumps when I use Dove originals soap, but I had wanted to switch to something more organic that would actually improve the health and quality of my skin. I was thinking of not buying this again, but I had decided to stick to trying for a week.

I'm glad I did, because by the end of the week/beginning of the next week, my skin looked really lovely. I was practically glowing and my skin felt really nice and comfortable. Disclaimer: I also use castor oil and aloe vera gel on my face so these products contribute to my results, but I do believe the charcoal soap played a big role in clarifying my skin by bringing out the impurities lying in the layers of my skin. This was probably why I saw the initial bumps.

I also gave my mother some of the soap to use (I broke off a piece for her to try) as she had really bad skin due to using toxic skin care products for many years. She had itchy red hives all over her face because of those products that she had to cover with makeup. She tries this soap and, for the first few days, she had similar reaction as mine. A few bumps popping up on her face. But then there was a noticeable change in the quality of her skin after only a week of use. Her skin now looks softer, supple, and she has a youthful glow! (she also uses aloe vera and castor oil). Now she wants to buy 3 more bars and I even advised her to go makeup free because she will soon not need it!

This soap is really a must try. It even keeps away mosquitos, apparently!

I docked one star only because it can be messy to use in a white shower. You have to be mindful of how you use the soap, but I think that's just characteristic of using charcoal products. But this is one small detail in all the great benefits of use!

I used this for about a month, it was my secondary soap while i was in treatment. It did smell good and lathered very well. The lather was satisfying and i did feel clean afterwards. However as much as i liked the idea of oats (literally) in it, it was really annoying to use as a soap bar. Chunks of the oats would just fall out and lay on the shower floor. The soap also wasn't very moisturizing for the face, maybe just the body. Part of the soap kept being icky — like mushy how some soap bars can get— regardless of having it lay on a soap container. I could tolerate the product and use it up but i wouldnt purchase again.
