I do love the adjustable spacing gauge on bottom of gun, great idea.

I came across the Wen roofing nail gun. I was only $100. I was amazed at how cheap it was. But of course, many bad thoughts went through my head wondering what could be wrong with it. But to my surprise, the tool turned out to be an amazing tool. I used to install a shingle roof, and also to install metal lathe on walls I'm plastering. It has worked flawlessly. No jams so far. The repetitive nailing feature is not quite as fast and fluent as my Porter Cable was requiring me to have a little more hand stroke when nailing multiple nail patterns, but it really isn't that much slower.
It even comes with a nice case. I will definitely recommend this nailer. And I may even purchase another as well.
Figured, at 70 bucks, maybe this one would be worth it for the second gun. And hey, I was right!
Pros: Drives nails just fine. only jammed once in 10 squares of shingles...not a big deal. Design is simple, and at least appears reasonably durable, at least for a guy like me who does maybe a roofing job for a relative or friend every year or two. Will accomodate from 3/4 to 1 3/4 inch nails with a simple adjustment.
Cons: Noticeably heavier than the Bostitch gun l already have. The WEN isn't horrible at all, but if you go from one gun to the other, you can definitely feel the difference. Loading nails is SLIGHTLY more difficult than the Bostitch (but honestly, both guns are very simple to load.)
In summary: It is not fair to compare a $70 WEN with a $200+ Bostitch, but that's what I did. And, it came out Ok for the WEN. WEN is heavier, a little harder to load, and may not hold up for years and years like the Bostitch has (although maybe it will). If I did roofing to pay the bills, I would invest in a better gun. But, at the end of the day, the WEN works fine, and should work good as a "homeowner" piece of equipment. Plus, the blue and yellow color scheme is both eye-catching and easy to see in the grass when you accidentally drop it off the roof!

Used it to cover my carport. Success.
Depth adjustment is super easy.
Used it with DeWalt 1 1/4 nail coils.
The only flaw is that it quite often double nails. But it never occured that it damaged the shingle. The second nail is easy to pull out with a hammer. Also, it never jammed so far.
