Product Description

The CMXGZBF7124213 40 in. Plug lawn aerator loosens tough, compacted soil giving you a healthy & lush lawn. When you aerate your lawn, You are opening up the soil surface to let grass roots get the air & moisture It needs for healthy growth. A plug aerator actually pulls out small plugs of grass & soil. This allows more water, air & nutrients to reach the grass roots. The plug aerator attaches to any brand lawn, garden or yd tractor so you can aerate while you mow.

Trick for the issue with the instructions

Trick for the issue with the instructions
Just finished assembling the aerator, haven't used it yet but wanted to offer a tip for those who may have issues with step 12. If you see "please note this is a difficult step" and "don't tighten until the last step" you know someone messed up. The issue is with the clearance with the lower bolt on the lift handle as it attaches with the wheel bracket. The bolt they specified is 1.25" long when it should be 1". Two recommendations, take the knifes off the neighboring "single spool assembly," then swap out the 1.25" bolt they recommend for a 1" that you can take from the hitch bracket. Put in the 1.25" bolt on the top and the 1" on the bottom, then reattach the knifes and you should be good to go. There's a couple of other "someone clearly didn't think this through" spots in the instructions but you can work around them. This step 12 was the tricky spot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does a good job!
Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2022
Assembled in 3 hours (playing classic rock in the background may have slowed me down a bit). Assembly was fairly easy using the instructions provided. All pieces and hardware were present, with a couple of extra bolts, nuts, and washers thrown in (thanks)! Pulled the aerator with a Craftsman Z5200 mower with ease. Went at a slow speed and did my .99 acre in about 45 minutes. We had spotty showers for a couple of days prior and the ground was just right for aerating. Very pleased with the results and would highly recommend!
