Great first robotic vacuum. Pleased so far.
4 Stars
Great first robotic vacuum. Pleased so far.
So far this robot has been good. Would like to touch on a few things that were wonderful. The amount this bot picks up is amazing. Two dogs and picks up the hair like magic. Smart robot that is gental with my furniture and can navigate very well. Goes over my 3/4 inch thresholds very well, never gets stuck. Goes in a nice pattern making sure not to miss anything. Does okay with bathroom rugs and floor mats. Sometimes gets stuck others pulls over them like a champ. I have a sprawling 2050 sq foot ranch with cleaning area almost 1300 sq ft, about half carpet and half hard surface. In standard mode for suction with auto boost on for carpets I got almost 90 minuets of battery. In standard without auto boost, I got almost 110 minuets of run time. In quiet mode without auto boost, I got 144 minuets with battery still left over with the robot cleaning the whole home. In quiet mode it still picked up quit a bit. Does very good in the dark and under furniture. Although this robot is taller than some, it can get under two of my couches that are 4 inches off the ground. The app is great to auto schedule cleanings and what areas you want cleaned. I have it set to clean heavy use areas where people and dogs stay most of the time to twice a day (allergies require hair to be picked up often, and Huskies shed allot, but wont get rid of the dogs). And the auto schedule works great. Starts on time and I dont have to worry about it. The no go or boundary lines work well. Needed to set a boundary line for my sons gaming chair, the robot would climb the base and get stuck. Have not had any issues with cords but they are all hidden behind furniture because ya know kids! I love that i can see where the robot is on the app and where it has cleaned.I have not had any connectivity issues. Let me start this by stating I use the orbi mesh router with a satellite on the opposite end of the house. For the individuals complaining about the 2.4 internet, it's actually better because it can go longer distances and is better through walls and obstacles keeping the robot connected better. The issue is not the robot getting it to connect, its your phone that dont want to connect to 2.4. The simple work around is turn off 5g at the router and reconnect phone to the wifi. This is accomplished easily by going to the router and looking for the routers webpage. Type it into a computer and u can adjust the router. Once connected to the 2.4 the app works flawlessly. After connected you can turn 5g back on. The robot will stay connected to the 2.4g and ur phone will not need to stay connected to 2.4 for use of the app. This is just for setup. This works even if 2.4 and 5g share the same name. Now for some negatives. I had to run the robot several times to get the area map to work. I finally had to delete the map, set the robot to quiet mode and remap the entire house without needing to recharge. Worked perfectly. Have the area map now on the map.The robot does have some issues returning to the base sometimes. I have noticed when the room the base sits in is dark the robot has issues finding the base. Also if the robot"finds" an object in the way back to the charger it will get lost. What I mean is, we have a certain divider going into the room with the charger. Although the curtain does not touch the floor, the robot will sometimes see this as a block that it cannot pass. I just have to remember to open the curtains. The dust bin is slighlty small, and I have to pause the vacuum during cleaning to dump the bin, but not that big of an issue since it's super easy to take out and dump.Integration with alexa is not great. Does not show as a device but can still control via voice once the skill is enabled and account signed into. Must call the robot deebot, does not go by given name. I see this as a negative because it could cause confusion if there are multiple robots. The voice control is limited but I do not see myself using alexa much because of auto scheduling and the limited voice control, cannot tell alexa to only clean certain areas.I have not tried the mopping feature yet.So far very happy with this purchase and the ability to not have to vacuum my floors multiple times a day due to dog hair! This is the first robotic vacuum I have owned so I cant compare it to any other. But does a decent job of getting dirt and hair so I dont have to vacuum multiple times a day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quieter, gentler and much more advanced than our old one
Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2019
2nd Update 12-14-20:
We've had this robot for about a year now. Overall we're happy with the purchase. Time will tell if we continue to feel that way. We've noticed some wear and tear. Specifically, the laser has had some issues and caused it to not do its regular cleaning. The fix? Tap the top... I also cleaned it out with the little brush that's inside the device. It's working for now.

We do everything we can to avoid losing the map. It takes about a week for it to correctly rebuild it because it never works the first try and the area is large. The first recommendation by customer service when there's an issue is to reset her, which means losing the map. Uh, no. What I do when she gets messed up, confused, builds the map wrong, or just about any other complaint that she has, I grab her on the back end and trap her/spin her until she stops and says she's confused. Then I turn her off. I wait a minute and turn her back on. She'll say, relocating, and will usually get it right. If I don't mess with her and only turn her off then on, she doesn't relocate herself well and won't accurately reset the map. She frequently messes up the map, so now that I know how to fix it, it's a little better. But, she seems to have an increasing number of errors or issues lately. So, like I said, we'll keep an eye on her and hope she lasts at last a few years.

Original review 12-2-2019:
We purchased this on sale on cyber Monday. We have a large kitchen that needs daily vacuuming. Our last old roomba a was loud and clunky. It banged into everything. This vacuum is quiet in comparison and gentle on chair legs and walls. We absolutely love the advanced mapping. It allows us to use virtual barriers and areas. Until our first map is complete we use custom area to get it to clean where the kids eat. You’ll see real use run time vs square footage in the image. We don’t get a full clean of our first floor on one charge but it tells us when it goes to the charger what it’s doing and then will resume once it’s charged. The image is when it had just run out of battery and was returning to the charger.

1st Update: It took several days to make our map. We learned you can't move the base station after making the map. If you do, delete the existing one and redo. We, like others, put up our chairs on table tops and removed every stray object from the floor so the robot would have fewer objects to go around. This increased the speed it moved. It still took one full run + one full charge + another partial run to do the map. The first time it went through this sequence after we moved the base station it drew the map going Northeast instead of North-South. This created two overlapping maps going two different directions which meant the robot was confused and had no idea where it was, nor could it find the base station. After giving it time to sort it out, I picked it up and brought it back to the charger, deleted the map and started over. Second time we ran through this sequence it worked and we were able to save the map. I was then able to subdivide some of the areas into rooms. We have large open spaces and when attempting to divide our kitchen into a dining/living/kitchen area it kept saying I needed to divide only one space at a time. I was. I couldn't get it to work despite trying to create it various ways.
