How long can I leave my Dolphin in the pool?
We recommend taking your Dolphin out of the pool after each use to empty and rinse the filters and to rinse off any excess chemicals. It is ideal to keep your Dolphin out of the pool and stored away when not in use. If your Dolphin has a weekly scheduler, you can keep it in your pool for a week, but you will need to make sure the filter is cleaned.
How to use the power supply
Important Reminder: The power supply for your Dolphin is not waterproof- it is water resistant. Keep protected from the elements.
Make sure the power supply is placed at least 10 feet from the edge of the pool. Connect the floating cable to the power supply, align the notch on the connector with the notch of the plug on the power supply, then turn clockwise. Press the ON/OFF button on the power supply to begin cleaning. The power supply for your Dolphin is not waterproof- it is water resistant. When in use, make sure it was either stored on the caddy (sold separately) or far away from the pool, so it does not get pulled in. Always use an electrical outlet protected with a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) device; this will protect your Dolphin from surges in power. Do not use an extension cord or surge protector to power your Dolphin.
How to take the robot out of the pool?
Gently pull on the blue floating cable to bring your Dolphin to the edge of the pool. Once your Dolphin is in reach, grasp the handle to pull the robot out of the water. Place the robot on the edge of the pool to let the remaining water drain out. Do not pull the Dolphin out of the water using the cable.
How to decide which filters to use?
It is best to use the fine, screen mesh filters early in the season or after a storm when your pool may have a lot of large debris. The fine filters will remove the larger rough debris such as sticks, twigs, and leaves. The ultra-fine, pleated, and corrugated filters (sold separately) will remove smaller dirt and debris that you can’t see. It is ideal to use these filters after your pool has had its initial cleaning for the season.

This thing works as described! Maybe not 100% coverage, but easily 95%. Just plug it in and go. I used the screens to initially clean the pool which had a bunch of leaves at the bottom after the winter storms. Got them all AND because the system is self contained, none of these leaves went through the pool’s filter system. Changed over to the filters for final cleaning....works great. The filter is extremely easy to clean and thanks to the engineers who set the filter up with the bottom opening. Maybe three minutes to clean and you are back in action.
My pool is kind of a weird shape and other pool cleaners would get stuck on the steps, etc. This thing has never been stuck once.
At the end of the day, it cleans my pool and I don’t have to do anything but watch it go.
The APP for the cleaner leaves a lot to be desired. Tried it a couple of times and it is anything but user friendly. Hopefully in the future they will work on this to make it easier to use. No real need to use it as the cleaner does very well on its own.
While expensive, I highly recommend this item to everyone.
However, less then 3 months of using it, it failed.
When the unit was working, it did a good job although I do feel the cleaning cycles should be more configurable. I also think the remote control function, good in theory bad in practice, is a bit gimmicky.
I am rating this product very poor based on support. This is not an inexpensive product and support should be considerably better. I will update the rating when/if appropriate.
This is what happened for me to require support if you felt so inclined as to read it.
The controller had a red ring and the app simply indicated that the cleaning cycle failed to complete. I researched common issue and followed steps to reset the unit. It seemed to resolve the problem for about a day then failed again. I contacted support and they shared with me some documentation on how to clear obstructions from the tracks/impeller but that did not fix the problem. They then had me ship the unit in for repair. They received it on 7/9/2023. After not receiving an update for, I asked for an update and received the following reply on 7/18/2023:
"Thank you for the update.
According to our systems, the unit was received in our facility.
Unfortunately, we don't have an estimated turnaround time for the repair process, but we can assure you that our teams are doing everything they can to complete it as soon as possible.
Once the repair is completed, you will receive an automated email, with the tracking information."
That was the last I heard from them and I haven't wanted to be impatient. Today, 8/10/2023, I requested another update and I am waiting to hear back.
<edit 8/25/2023>
They finally responded after I filed a complaint through their corporate feedback form. I never received the cause of the failure but they ended up sending me a new "upgraded" unit, an SC400. It took almost 2 weeks to arrive but it did actually get here. I set it up yesterday and ran two cycles, seems to be working fine. However, the original unit also worked fine for about a month. So time will tell on this one.
