Saniderm Tattoo Aftercare Bandages are a type of bandage referred to in the medical community as an “occlusive dressing.” By definition, this means that the bandages form a total seal around the wounded (in this case, tattooed) area. They do not have the absorbent properties of a typical gauze bandage. By using the body's natural repairing fluids to keep the wounded area in a hydrated state, Saniderm accelerates cell recovery and therefore heals your tattoo faster. Saniderm bandages are made from high-quality materials and are composed of three primary components. The bandage itself is latex-free and made of 100% polyurethane. The acrylic adhesive is backed by standard sticker paper. The upper application layer is made from polyethylene terephthalate, which gives the bandage additional structure when applied to the skin. Q: How Does Saniderm Work? A: Your freshly tattooed skin is especially susceptible to damage from environmental contaminants. This includes airborne dirt, pet dander, and other harmful bacteria. Saniderm locks in the blood and plasma that your body naturally weeps from the tattooed area. Because the bandage prevents this combination of blood and plasma from drying on the surface of your skin, scabbing and flaking is avoided, allowing your tattoo to stay hydrated and heal faster. Q: Is Saniderm Waterproof? A: Yes, Saniderm is waterproof. Because water particles are larger than oxygen particles, the bandage is designed to be permeable enough for oxygen to pass through, while still keeping water out. This maintains an optimal level of breathability for your new tattoo. You can shower with Saniderm on your new tattoo, but you should still avoid prolonged contact with the water. Fully submerging a new tattoo (i.e. taking baths or swimming) while actively healing is never recommended. Submerging the bandage can weaken its adhesion, and if this seal breaks, your tattoo is at risk of infection. Q: Can I Work Out With Saniderm On? A: Yes, you can exercise with Saniderm on your new tattoo. One of the advantages of Saniderm is that you can conveniently get back to your daily routine much sooner after being tattooed. However, you should still be mindful of excessive sweat and friction in high-motion areas. These two things can weaken the adhesion of the bandage and may require you to change it more often. Q: Is It Okay That My Saniderm Is Filled With Blood? A: Yes, in fact, this means that Saniderm is doing its job. That fluid pooling underneath the bandage is commonly referred to as an “ink sack.” The ink sack contains all of the blood, plasma, and other natural growth factors that weep from your tattoo, and uses them to your benefit by accelerating cell repair. NOTE: Depending on factors such as area of the body, color saturation, and personal anatomy, you may experience varying levels of tattoo weeping. Do not be alarmed by excessive weeping, or by no weeping at all. If the tattooed skin becomes dry underneath the bandage, remove and use Sanibalm to moisturize. The Best Healing Tips

I loved using this product right after my half sleeve tattoo service. Plenty of wrap to do the job, and did a great job of adhesion after the correct prepping. It helped reduce the discomfort for sure! I do wish that the website showed the option for the saniderm that is more matte, and pliable as that was what i was actually looking for. The super shiny one doesn't seem to be as flexible with your movement. All in all, it arrived quickly, and di the job!

I bought my own roll to use to keep my new tattoo protected. I will be vacationing and though I plan on minimizing beach and pool time, I feel confident using this will help protect my art. It is easy to apply and remove and you really can’t tell it’s even there.

I liked the quick delivery and the ease in which the outer and inner surfaces are to remove. It can be a bit tricky keeping the wrap from folding in on itself but someone to help and you are all set. Or, perhaps someone more experienced than me to apply it.

Tricky without help

Really loved my experience with Saniderm. Got it for a tattoo that wrapped around the whole of my right forearm and felt it was the best option having as many animals as I do and working in childcare, just to protect it. Despite that, I had A LITTLE doubt because I don't love tight things on my skin and have had reactions to bandaids and such, but I actually had zero uncomfortable reactions and despite the initial tight feeling, it began to feel more mobile and skin like as it stayed on. It does stick REAAAALLLLLYYYY well, and taking it off wasn't the most fun, but slow and steady under warm water did work well. It just doesn't feel great coming off. I experienced no scabbing or irritations and am very happy with how it worked in the healing process!

Amazing Experience!

I purchased this last month so I’d be ready for my tattoo appointment. After I got home from my appointment I used the Saniderm Foam soap to wash off any excess ink & blood. I lightly patted my leg dry and then applied the wrap to my leg. It was an easy process and I kept my first one for 24 hours. I washed it again last night and reapplied a new one. Currently on day 2 and the only issue is some lifting around the ankle area but it’s not a product problem but a me problem. It was a hard angle to apply on my own so it was a little loose and my sock just aggravated it more. Great product and I’ve already ordered a new batch for my upcoming appointments. Thank you!

I found a great artist unfortunately theyre an hour away so a return trip for them to reapply Saniderm the next day would be quite expensive so I picked up a roll for my own use and found it to be a great product, no worries about pet hair getting on my fresh tattoo causing skin infections or similar as well as made aftercare a breeze

Wish I used it sooner

Don’t place pieces next to each other. They will pull at skin and damage/scab where the skin creases form. Consistent healing overall on product.

I’ve never had an issue until I recently bought another roll of this. However this time I’m left with 3rd degree burns and in pain. I’m honestly so upset I’ve spent my money to be left in pain. May have been just a bad batch but I’m extremely disappointed.
