    Got this shredder Jan 1 2023. Was in good condition, no broken pieces, or dents on the pkg.Set it all up, used for a while to shred what ever that was piling up since my old one of 15 years eventually gave in. I tried 1 sheet, 2 sheet, 5 sheets max so far and it did its job. Its pretty quick too, descent speed. The less sheets to shred the faster it is. The blades in the unit seem arranged alot differently then my old one. This unit seems sturdy with nice hard bladed to crunch through those papers. My old unit cut the paper pieces also cross cut, but it was shaped sorta likea diamond. This one cuts in in a shape of mini rectangles. This is all due to how the blades are designed in the unit. This unit is pretty heavy to just quickly pick it up with one hand to empty it, have to use both hand, grab it from each side. The grabbing part on each side is not deep enough to get a good handle onit, basically the tip of your fingers only are able to grab the unit to lift it up. Myold unit was lighter, the the grab on each side was a few more mm deeper to get a good hold, but then again I was able to use one hand to remove it vs both hands for this unit.Also, this unit when lifting up the main unit to empty it out, the opening of the blades are right on the front underneath while my old unit the opening was more towards the rear which was better since when you hold this unit your hand tends to hold towards the front of the unit and the rest of your fingers are in the opening where the blades are. The old unit actually had a little cover underneath where the blades are so when you lift it up you can hold the cover closed, this unit doesnt have a cover for the blades, its just open. The cover also prevent the left over shredded paper on the bladed from falling down when lifting up the init, you can keep it closed while holding it. They all have a safety switch so when the unit is lifted off the bucket, there is no power going to the unit but I would unplug it anyway, do you really want to trust the safety switch on any shredder.Again for me this is not that great since as soon as you remove the unit to empty your fingers where your holding tend to also enter the opening which is in the front underneath in this unit. Just got to make sure when holding the uinit just to hold the edge where the opening starts underneath.The unit is pretty heavy since it has good strong cutters , solid metal...to shred the paper. So far it hasnt overheated since I havent used it that long.Unit does what it was intended for..........

I generally let shred material accumulate until there is a copy paper box full then have a session. This machine has not stalled or overheated so I have not had to wait for the cool down time described in the booklet that comes with it. I lubricate the cutters before each long session with vegetable oil in a dropper distributed across the blades. The container is small for my use, but easy to empty and continue. There is a safety interlock that detects that the cutter head is installed properly on the container. It is noisy, but not excessively so.

    Does exactly what it should do - shreds paper, card stock and credit cards - and does it easily. The small container below the shredder fills quickly if you're using this on a daily basis, so just a heads up about that. To minimize the mess caused by emptying it, I lined the container with a small trash bag - it doesn't impede the operation of the shredder at all. (The shredder head has to come in contact with a specific piece of the container to operate, so don't use a thick bag.) I purchased shredder maintenance sheets (also called shredder cleaning sheets) to use once a month or so, to keep the blades sharp and lubricated - I recommend keeping them on hand if you're a heavy shredder like I am.

    Update: 1 year later, still going strong!
    Recently moved in with someone who is a bit of a paper hoarder - or was, until we started shredding. Long story made short: man living alone with hectic job schedule never threw any paper away - so receipts, bills, etc - all kept for over 5 years and just piled into bags and left sitting. Over the course of several weeks, he sorted through it to be sure it was all trash, and I started shredding. I ended up with EIGHT 33-gallon trash bags full of shredded paper. This little shredder powered through it all, even after being over a year old!

    Tips: You have to give this thing a break now and then, and don't overload it. It's not a commercial shredder and can only take up to 8 sheets at a time - and I've found 8 sheets is often too much, so I don't do more than 3-4 sheets at one time.

    Buy the Amazon Basics Shredder Lubricating/Cleaning sheets & run one of them through the shredder after you empty it 2-3 times to keep the blades sharp & running smoothly.

    For an inexpensive shredder, this has been a great addition to my home office, and turned out to be a real workhorse, which I wasn't expecting. Definitely recommended.

    Works great. I work from home several days a week and often need to shred documents that I have printed with information that I don't want to throw in the trash. Additionally, I shred personal documents to try to help prevent the likely hood of having my identity stolen. Although, I always joke that the thief can have the $10's of dollars in my account and good luck paying off the mortgage. But seriously, I don't want my identity stolen so this was an investment worth the money.

    My old shredder finally packed it in. Was not repairable. I explored various makes and models for a new shredder I AMAZON. I had a full description of many different shredders to choose from.     Primeramente, llegó un día antes de lo planeado. Bien empacado, con indicaciones útiles de dónde están las cuchillas, fácil de armar. Lo utilicé casi al momento en que llegó y funcionó a la perfección: aún no he probado la funcionalidad de triturar tarjetas de plástico, pero pude triturar hasta seis hojas de una sola vez. No recomendaría que intentaran con más, aunque supuestamente soporta hasta ocho. El contenedor es bastante grande, sólo tuve que vaciarlo una vez que terminé (trituré unas 100 hojas aprox).

    La única desventaja que le he encontrado es que el instructivo viene completamente en inglés, lo cual pudiera ser un problema para una persona monolingüe. De ahí en fuera, lo recomiendo ampliamente. La relación precio-calidad es muy buena.
