Although it is a smaller type of a clock, it is perfect because it shows the time the date and it shows the time Visibly on what her alarm is set at. The clock numbers are large. The clock does not stay lit up because it is a battery operated clock. But there is a button at the top you can press at any time and it will light up the clock so you can look and see what time it is.

A very handy battery-operated alarm clock. I just wish it had the auto night-light feature that the older model of the same product used to have. This one requires you to press the button on top to activate the screen illumination, whereas the older model had a photo cell which illuminated the dial any time it was dark. Otherwise, the text is contrasts and easily readable and the controls are intuitive. It has a long battery life using standard size alkaline batteries.

I purchased this alarm clock for my now Kindergartener, to help him wake up for school. He picked it out himself. We set it all up - super easy to set and did a "test alarm" on it. Once the alarm started to go off, I realized it was not very loud at all. I was concerned because my kinder is kind of a heavy sleeper. The overall appearance of the alarm clock is great, but I knew it wasn't going to do the job we needed it to do. I convinced my kinder to trade alarms with my 3rd grade son as he is a lighter sleeper. This alarm doesn't even wake him up either! Definitely look at other options if you need something on the louder side. Also, if the alarm goes off and you don't hit snooze or turn it off, it WILL NOT go off again. In other words, if you sleep through the alarm the first time, it does not go off a second time.

I wish the clock face would stay lit up so that she could see it in the dark. You have to push a button and then it lights up for a few seconds but we want to keep it across the room from her bed.
Other than that it’s pretty good.
You should also note that since the same switch is used to set and silence the alarm you have to set it again every time you silence it in the morning. Don’t count on it going off in the morning unless you check to see if your kid has set it.
Finally, the alarm stops after a minute or two. The beeps get progressively more frantic but then give up. That could be a pro or a con depending on what you want or how deep a sleeper you are.
