    For the price, I am very impressed with this pen. It is heavy and well made. The pocket clip is robust, you can clip this on your belt or jeans pocket. Overall quality compares to the build quality of Chinese tactical flashlights in the $40 to $50 range. (Yes, I'm comparing pens to flashlights, but this is my first tactical pen so I have nothing to compare to.) Twist action to deploy the pen tip is smooth. It writes well. I am not a pen aficionado but this writes smoothly and without forming gobs. It also deals fairly well with damp paper. Not so good on some glossy papers. I mainly got this pen for use as a pen that won't snap in half in my pocket. I'm very happy with it in that regard. I end up using my pen a lot for carpentry jobs, writing on wood. I have found myself marking screw holes with the glass breaker tip too. No doubt that if I had to use this pen in an emergency situation, it would stand up to the task.
    This appears to use a Parker style refill. I don't have a genuine Parker refill to try, but off-brand Parker style refills I have do not quite fit. The thinner ball point end has a slightly larger diameter than the included refill and it binds in the pen. I fixed this by running a #38 (0.1015") drill bit through the pen body exit hole to clear it. I believe the anodizing inside the hole left it slightly too tight. The Parker style refills now work fine. But I wanted to install a Fisher Space Pen refill. This presented an additional problem. Drilling the body accommodates the business end of the Fisher cartridge, but the Parker adapter included by Fisher has a too tight fit in upper end of the pen. I fixed this by gently chucking the plastic Fisher-Parker adapter in my drill and sanding down its diameter for a few seconds. The Space Pen refills now works great in this pen.

    The Sminiker Professional Defender Tactical Pen is everything the product description says. It is right at 6 inches long, as thick as my fore finger and weights roughly 1.6 ounces. It writes well, although a little top heavy. My biggest problem with the pen is how to carry it. I work in a professional office setting wearing business casual (no jacket). When the pen is in my shirt pocket, the tungsten steel glass breaker tip protrudes from the top of the pocket. Because it's top heavy, the pen pulls the shirt pocket down. If I clip it in my front pant's pocket, the tip protrudes from the top of the pocket and will poke my hand when reaching into the pocket.

    It seems the best way to carry the pen is in either an EDC pocket organizer or off-body in a EDC pouch or pack. However, it's too long for the Maxpedition Micro organizer and almost too thick for the Maxpedition EDC organizer depending on what else you carry.

    The pen did not come with a sheath with a top flap for belt carry (although while in business casual, belt carrying anything in a sheath looks odd). Mine was around $10 with tax, so I'm not going to send it back. It will probably ride in the center dash console of my car. Shame.

    It's a nice enough pen for the price, but have a plan for how you will carry it.

    This pen comes in a neat little box with 5 extra ink refills. All in all it is a good buy. If you ever need it to escape a vehicle or use it for self defense, you'll have it handy. If not, it is still a decent writing pen with 5 refills and it feels nice too!

The second was a little lighter hit than the first and the third just shattered it. It would have been more practical to bust out a side window but i might use mine for something else later. I would say that in the case of an emergency this pen will Definitely do the job. If i ever have to use it for that I'll write an edit and post the results.
