Yes, the screws are plastic not metal as the picture shows...but who cares. The product is high-quality and the screws work fine. They only need to be snugged down to the bucket, so no need to over-tighten. The plastic screws are much larger than the metal ones shown, which makes them hold very well even just snugging them down to the bucket. The inside surface of the (3) plastic screws is much larger than the metal screws, therefore I think the plastic screws are actually better. The wheels are quite nice and the dolly rolls easily with a full bucket. Two of the five wheels are locking, so the dolly stays in place when needed. They unlock very easily so you can roll the dolly where needed.

Low-centered Dolly, Raises and Supports Expectations

If I were being nitpicky, I'd rate this bucket-dolly 4.5 stars. For me, the only detracting elements of this product are the undersized caster wheels. The small wheels can cause issues with low ground/floor clearance where uneven terrain exists.

Otherwise, the dolly does its job in supporting a bucket with an enormous weight load. I've had buckets laden with an excess of 100 lbs and the casters rolled without fail. The bucket-well is both deep and wide enough to support and stabilize any standard 5-gallon bucket that I've tried. The three plastic plug pins are thick and durable enough to safely secure any bucket in place.

I'd save my money and avoid buying the overpriced Chemical Guys buckets and go with a competitor brand that offers a better value. I expected that since they were of the same manufacturer that there would be an advantage in fit; there was not. I found the Chemical Guys 5-gallon buckets to be too short and stout to be useful for most practical applications I needed it for (and to justify its high price tag).

Great for carboys if that's your thing

I'm a homebrewer and still make use of 6.5g glass carboys (which are both heavy and fragile). I was looking for something to move the filled carboys, which might weigh around 60#, from my brew area to garage without breaking my back. It's nervous carrying six-gallons of fresh wort in a glass jug across twenty-feet of concrete but this dolly makes it a breeze. I place the empty carboy in the dolly before filling, it rolls smoothly, and I can lock it in place while moving the carboy in to the fermentation chamber. Solidly built, had none of the issues with missing parts others had described, my back and nerves are happy with the purchase.

This Chemical Guys ACC_100.1 Professional Bucket Dolly is a well thought out product that should take some serious hits without falling apart. It's mostly plastic and so mostly non-corrosive. It should also handle wheel cleaner acids and other detergents without degrading the body.

Some reviewers commented on the three adjusting wing nut style parts intended to accommodate the diameter of a 5-gallon bucket. They thread easily provided you are careful to first apply pressure to each part, so the thread start is flat. Gently twist each one in to avoid cross threading them, making your task much more difficult.

Other than that, it was out of the box, assembled and cradling a 5-gallon bucket in about 8-minutes. The casters fit snug but not tight like Office and Gamer chairs. This one is being used to support a Dust Deputy collection system.

I had a dolly similar to this one but I dropped it and broke a large section out of the side. I purchased this one because it is most like the one that I broke. The screws are plastic instead of metal which is just fine with me. I had no problem screwing in these plastic screws without the use of tools. For the other reviewers that had problems, I think that you may have cross threaded them. It is very easy to cross thread plastic screws. Just be careful when you first start the screws into the holes. It works just fine for a bucket seat. I purchased a padded lid for my 5 gallon bucket and put it into this dolly. It makes a great seat for working on the lower parts of my truck. The wheels could be a larger diameter for easier rolling on my not so good asphalt driveway. My previous dolly had the same size wheels. I haven't found a bucket dolly with larger wheels. The screws hold the bucket securely in place without using any tools and I can lift the bucket up and the dolly stays attached.

I bought this to hold a 5 gallon bucket of hydraulic oil. Of course, I read all of the negative reviews to find out what people really think. Still I went ahead and purchased the unit. My thoughts:
- The instructions that come with the unit state "Tighten only to stabilize the bucket, do not overtighten. Do not tighten to carry the bucket"
- The instructions also state "Do not force or cross thread the bolts" "Finger tight only, do not use tools". The bolts and the dolly have fine plastic threads, it is easy to cross thread if you are not paying attention. If the bolts get tight before the bolt emerges inside, you have cross threaded it, back it out and try again.
- The dolly has locks on 2 of the 5 wheels, which seems like plenty
So this dolly works well as advertised if you follow the directions.

The dolly carrying a five gallon bucket of water/soap can easily be moved around by kicking the dolly or tugging on the bucket. The bucket/dolly combination appears to be pretty stable, it will easily traverse cement crevices and small cracks and will perform respectively against an in the way garden hose. There are hold down screws (3) that are useless, gravity just works just fine. The dolly appears to be heavy duty, that can stand up to abuse. The only fault I can see is the dolly acts like a bucket, there are no drain holes in the bottom of the bucket holder. That can be easily remedied by drilling a couple of small holes in the bottom of the holder or rinsing the dolly out.

Very well made. Sturdy, tough, thick gauge plastic. Impressive build. Made in U.S.A.!! Casters are high quality urethane and the plastic screws are great. If buyers find the screws too tight, a little drop of silicone grease or some silicone spray will free things up.

Tighten the screws up and they grip the bucket solidly, so you can carry the entire assembly around by the bucket handle.

After reading the negative reviews I hesitated and almost didn't buy the dolly. I'm glad I bought it anyway. Well worth the purchase price in my opinion especially considering the free delivery.
