We don't use our ice maker, only use Berkey filter water in trays. We have the same number of these trays and Rubbermaid Easy Release trays stacked up in our freezer. These Kitch trays somehow make clearer ice cubes than my Rubbermaid Easy Release trays. It's so weird, but the cubes from these trays are stunningly clear and beautiful.These Kitch trays often release ice cubes that have cracked pieces, so they're rarely perfectly shaped and there are often ice chips left in the tray. But the size and shape are good, and having nearly clear cubes makes it feel cleaner somehow. If my Rubbermaid trays ever give out, I would happily replace them with more of these trays.

Okay, so I've had about 8 old cracking ice cube trays I bought from Walmart long ago. I love ice. Drink ice water day and night. My old ice cube trays were causing me endless frustration, so I spent an hour on Amazon and was lucky to find these. They are not fancy. They do not have "covers," whatever that means. No batteries or charging cables are necessary. They are just molded thick white plastic, fill, freeze, and twist slightly to release decent size ice cubes. They are extremely well made and look durable. A slight twist will unleash the cubes, and I've found no sticking at all. I bought eight of them and I find them delightful. Most of my old broken up trays are destined for the trash. There's absolutely NO bad or plastic smell with these as I read some other reviewers mention. None. I took the plastic wrapping off and no smell at all. I did rinse them all off with some warm water but didn't need to really. I think these things will last a long time. I think these will outlive me actually. Price is right, cubes are medium large, and I couldn't be more happy. Don't even pay attention to any less than stellar reviews. These are the ice cube trays you're looking for, that you've been dreaming about. Did I mention how delightful they are? Buy them. Delightfully delightful...

I bought these for making bone broth cubes. Bone broth cubes you say? Yes, Bone broth cubes. We make them for our dog because she has special needs and a crazy diet to support her health issues. We make two big pots of bone broth and freeze cubes twice a day for a week freezing these cubes. When we feed our dog we take out a cube, put it in a little Pyrex bowl with a little water for one minute and pour it over here food. We make these cubes three times a year filling gallon zip freezer bags with them.

We used our old cube shaped ice trays and always had issues getting them out after freezing. We would have to bend them like crazy to get the cubes out, and after a year the plastic gave out and they started breaking. We really looked for a while for ice cube trays that would last. I think we found them. You can't believe it, but ice cube tray design is important. These trays make rounded bottoms and that allows for really easy release of the cubes from the tray. They can easily be stacked, and with all four trays, they make 64 cubes at one time. That makes our job much easier and faster. They even fit in our side by side fridge freezer sideways.

These are great cube trays and they are also a terrific value for the price. They are well made and really good quality. They will make cubes for many years to come. If you are looking for ice cube trays, look at these, we highly recommend them and they get 5 stars.

So, in addition to often being beyond my hand & wrist strength, sometimes the old trays dispense the cubes cleanly, other times it is like instant crushed ice (grrr). So, I was shedding crocodile tears when one actually broke and went immediately to shop for a replacement (thinking to buy just two). After reading the other stellar reviews, I changed my order to four.

This is a long intro to to say these trays live up to their promise. Incredible easy to twist and pop out the cubes—perhaps due to a smarter rounded shape on the bottom that more efficiently translates the torsional force? In any case, they’re perfect and I now I eagerly anticipate cracking out the ice flawlessly and unassisted!

Also, being made in the US from FDA-approved materials is a reassuring feature.
