Fantastic Housewarming / Graduation Gift
I bought this as a birthday gift to my 17-year-old. I'm so impressed with how the product arrived. I was expecting a backpack and a bunch of supplies all individually packaged in plastic. Instead it arrived in a fantastic highly durable cardboard box detailing the product.

This was an awesome starter for what I planned to put together for my girlfriend as it is smaller but offers some serious space to pack in. After organizing some of the stuff and splitting some of the stuff between my more robust back pack, I found she had plenty of space to add even more. For the price and what you get this is a great start up for someone who doesn't know where to start or maybe you need inspiration to get started. Overall the stuff is good quality, the gloves had some powdery thing going on but they seemed sturdy. The food/water is from my preferred companies on Amazon so that's a plus, mres will just constipate you. Comes with good quality paracord. The whistle has a seal tight enough to put matches inside or cotton balls soaked in petroleum without them getting wet, however I doubt the compass would function after submersion(not sure what the other 2 functions are). Super impressed with the crank radio/flashlight, works great, super loud, and I barely spun it maybe 10 times. The first aid is basic but essentials are in there, good pair of scissors and medical shears, but the tweezers could be replaced with something more usable. The med kit has a little give so you can stuff some other useful things you might need in your kit. The shelter options and tips they give you are basic but the most lightweight and useful temporary shelter stuff you can get so it's worth the little space it takes. Overall this is a good bag to have but I recommend figuring out what you might add to it or take away depending on your situation. It's got space but no molle straps for improvement however the point it to remain inconspicuous so I get why.

I got his pack thinking to have all the basic "storm needs" covered and it does. It's loaded with just enough for 2 people - the 72 hrs. is for that brick of foodstuff - so it is a total bug out kit. The pack is large and does have room for a few more items. It's a good companion to our Hurricane Preparedness Shelf - that we hope to never have to use, but we're ready. I recommend this for a good basic kit for 2 - and you can replace some items as they are used (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) I added in some floss. They sent me a complete list of inventory that's included now as a checklist what to replace when things are used, what to add and what to discard. Request that list from the maker and it is a necessary addition to the pack. It was very helpful. And, I LOVE that this was a prime shipping item. It came well packed double boxed. Great find.

The bag is full and packed with essential goodies. Nothing over the top or fancy, but definetly a good thing to have in the house or car for whatever may happen. I live in northern California where we have earth quakes and fires unexpectedly.. but even in tornadoe country, hurricane season. This bag has the essentials. The first 3 days after a disaster are the most crucial and this bag can get a couple people through those first days for sure. For the price, I say why the hell not.

I purchased this after finding ratings and reviews online by various outdoorsmen and it does not disappoint. It has nearly everything you would need for surviving being lost. It’s easy to carry and has plenty of room for more supplies. The flashlight that comes with it is so fabulous, my Dad wants one - and he is one of those hard to please people. Everything that is included is well made and useful. I purchased this for son who is a Geology major and loves caving. He loves it. Glad I chose this one!

The back pack feels very well made out of durable material. This will stay in my car so there should be no wear and tear on it. There are a few things that I will add or replace, like the flashlight, just because I like certain things better. Otherwise this should be in everyone's possession. There is also plenty of extra room to add items that someone may want to have. Plenty of room for an extra pair of shoes for example. Better have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

EDIT: 2/2/19 we bought another one of these kits, after being burgled, we're disappointed to see that this 'new' kit doesn't have the extra first aid supplies in the form of the advanced kit, and no longer has the self defence claw item. The addition of an extra water filtration item was nice, but the first aid supplies were more important to us. The kit is VERY pared down compared to the last one we purchased. Not especially happy.

This arrived today and we are happy with it. It's nice that everything fits inside the main bag leaving the front pockets free to add in your own 'essentials'. It is all organised and labeled in bags and as we hope to only ever have to use it in an emergency situation we feel that it will definitely get us through a few days in relative comfort (some form of shelter, food and water, first aid)
The bag is as pictured, black with dark grey accents and doesn't scream attack and murder me for my supplies, and also isn't heavy even fully loaded.
I can't see this really pleasing the more enthusiastic heavy duty preppers as it might not have the long term durability they'd be looking for for long hikes/months living in a forest etc.

Edit: Disappointed to find only 1 self defence keychain in a pack made for 2. I don't think 1 each would have eaten away too much at anybody's profit margin.

I’ll save you the time I spent looking for the perfect emergency preparedness bag-buy this one. Important to NOTE: not all of the bags on the market are FEMA compliant-this one is! It is lightweight which was important to me, but not flimsy. It checked all the boxes I had set for my priorities if a disaster loomed. We added pet food with a long shelf life, a collapsing pet bowl and a box of individual water pouches all found on Amazon as well.
It’s funny how secure I now feel knowing our “bug out bag” is ready if we ever need it. You’re on your way to the same peace of mind with this purchase.
