My husband wore a black, major brand, athletic style long sleeve shirt under a royal blue hoodie. The result was the athletic shirt was covered is blue fuzz balls. We assumed they'd wash off. They didn't. We assumed they'd come off in the dryer. They didn't and now they were embedded into the fabric. Enter this product.The product is easy to use, easy to assemble. 2 AA batteries (not included) go into the bottom and the machine turns on/off with a simple switch. The handle feels good in my hand and not much pressure is needed for the machine to work. I used it with more and less pressure. I used it in a line and made circles. No one way was more effective than another. In fact, I think using multiple directions helped release the pills.After quite a while, the shirt was cleaned up but I went through 2 sets of batteries. I cleaned the lint holder often and took off the head to inspect under the razors, making sure nothing was impeding rotation. It's a great gadget. It just uses a ton of battery. Maybe if I had a small patch here and there just periodically, I wouldn't realize how much battery was being used but to clean up a whole shirt, used a lot of batteries. I fwwl like if a shirt was showing pills, the whole thing would need to be treated though so not sure why this little machine used so many batteries. Anyway. It does work but it's slow and uses a lot of batteries, that aren't included.Pictures posted are of 1/2 shaved, 1/2 untreated.

I bought this product because I picked up some material dining room chairs second hand. They were full of pulls but I had used on of these on clothes before so I figured what the heck.. this product is amazing. My chairs look brand new!! It was so easy to use. It's got right down into the material and shaved off the pulls with ease! Fits right in your hand. Would recommend this product. It's not just for clothes. But works well on those too!!

I was skeptical about this lint shaver, so I bought two other ones to compare.

I originally had a small Evercare lint shaver that just was not effective. I have this expensive blanket that is really nice except that it sheds like a husky in summer, so I needed an upgrade. I bought this one first based on price and reviews. I needed something with a big head because I’d be using it on a king size blanket, both sides, which is pretty time consuming.

On first impression this shaver is very light weight, making it feel cheap, but so far it has held up and the lightness makes it comfortable to use. I assume the lack of weight comes mostly from a relatively small battery compared to others, more on that later. It’s a simple device and doesn’t require unnecessary design features, so a minimal build is good, but does have caveats. The lint compartment is definitely too small, which is one thing that led me to try others. Ultimately, it works better so more frequent emptying is just going to have to be worth the effort.

The other two shavers I bought both were dual head designs, because I figured double the surface area would cut my time using it. I got the BREEZOME and the VASSON, both of which were well made and effective, but just didn’t perform as well as this single head Conair.

The others each had their pros and cons, but it all came down to which one provided the best results in the least amount of time without damaging the fabric. To my surprise, it came back to this one for one simple reason, the design of the screen on the shaver head. This one has LARGE HEXAGONAL holes all across it surface, and that makes ALL the difference. The others either had circular holes and/or a combination of large and small holes and just didn’t perform as well.

Back to the battery - while others had a much higher battery capacity and lasted longer while unplugged, it again came down to performance. The Conair can be used while plugged in, which is less convenient, especially when using it on a king size blanket. BUT, it just worked so well that I’m willing to put up with that.

This is a fantastic little device. It looked a little flimsy at first glance, but when I started using it, it was incredibly effective. Smart engineering and a simple but well-thought-out mechanism. I used it on an expensive woolen coat that was 10 years old and had a lot of pilling. I was afraid I was going to have to throw it away. After using this device, it is like new again. One word of caution in thin fabrics: as an experiment, I tried it on a thin jersey fabric that had light piling. It worked, but when I pressed too hard in a spot where the fabric made a knot, it damaged the fabric (as in, there were several holes in the fabric). So if you have thin fabric that forms any kind of angle, you have to be very careful. You can only use it when the fabric is completely flat in that case, and not press too hard. In any case, this is a fantastic device.
