1. Tear open sachet near notched end. 2. Remove and unfold wipe (towelette). 3. Use just enough of this product to cover exposed skin. 4. If biting insects do not respond to a thin layer, apply a bit more. 5. When using on a child, apply product to child yourself. 6. Reapply as necessary or after swimming or showering. 7. After returning indoors, wash treated skin with soap and water or bathe.

My scheduled visit to Argentina, mostly Buenos Aires with side-trips to Tigre, Iguazú, and Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay, coincided with a major mosquito outbreak in the area after record rainfall. I stocked up on Ben's on the basis of Amazon reviews. It worked unbelievably well! The towelettes made it easy to apply the repellent without the bulk of a spray. I could (and did) easily fit one or two in my handbag or backpack.

As long as I remembered to apply repellent, mosquitos kept their distance from me. A few times I didn't bother beforehand but then had to take action when I was besieged by mosquitos. This worked like a controlled experiment! Naked limbs -- lots of mosquitos. Put on Ben's -- no mosquitos.

This stuff really works. Although Sawyer 30% Lotion usually kept them from biting, it actually attracted flying insects, so you always had a cloud of them buzzing around your face and head wherever you went. With this product, they check you out and quickly move on.

- Best form of application
- Applies quickly and evenly
- Dries quickly
- No spray clouds and waste
- Not greasy, sticky, or messy
- Little odor
- Small packets are easy to carry and open.

CON:

- Need to throw away empty packet and wipe w/each application
- Most Expensive w/12 applications per package
- One packet barely enough to cover face, neck, arms--legs require at least a 2nd packet
- Not designed for applying to anything other than exposed skin
-DEET can damage or discolor synthetic clothing/material if in contact (applies to all DEET products)

For clothing, use a Permethrin spray labeled for clothing, and follow directions. Once it dries you won't know its there, but flying/crawling bugs will. Lasts through 4-6 washings.

I like this as packaged because I have a backpack and carryon only. I prefer to challenge myself to travel lighter when flying. These fit in anywhere. The price is reasonable and what I was specifically searching for.

I realize it is more packaging, but I would prefer environmentalists scream at the makers of plastic to stop making plastic than at people who unknowingly recycle plastics that end up in our oceans and waterways.
