This complete set of German stainless-steel knives makes prep work easy. The 19-piece knife block set features a full set of ultra-sharp knives for precision cutting. Peel fruit and create garnishes with the 4-inch paring knife, slice through a crusty loaf of sourdough and make neat cubes of ciabatta with the 8-inch bread knife, and chop herbs, dice onions, and mince garlic with the all-rounder 8-inch chef’s knife. First thing first, I have done a lot of research on block sets as I have been looking for quite a while to make sure we make an informed decision for our home. From reviews, hunting in stores (for what we could actually see physically), word of mouth and manufacturer details, I really feel we made a good pick here.

Pros -

-My god don't cut yourself, these things are sharp. After cutting through the fatty end of a grilled strip steak like it wasn't even there, I had to warn the kid not to kill herself. Seriously, they are sharp. Yes, we had a less than average set to begin with and that does affect the impression but these did not let my expectations down.

- Quality - You get what you pay for, simple as that. When I handled the three I used, steak knife, bread and Santoku, you can just feel how well they are put together. The handle was more comfortable than I thought it would be and nicer looking in hand. My wife really wanted the handle like Henkels International but we really like this. The blade is slightly flexible like some have said but my god, what are some people expecting for a set at $329 dollars? It is not like they are so flexible to be anything negative in my opinion and I think the drama queens need to slow down on that one. When I put pressure on the blade, I didn't get anything crazy regarding blade movement.

First impression is nice, we will see where it ends up after some real use.

Small cons

-It would have been nice to have some variance in the block color. Sure, we can stain it something else but why not just offer it as an option?

-We kept the slips for all the knives to keep part numbers, just in case we wanted to add some more steak knives for those party nights. Why no documentation explaining what you have? We cut the list off the box as well to make sure we never lost track. Yes, you can also look at the knives as the part number is there but not if that knife disappears magically.

-The block has the extra slot for a cleaver and that we like, but there doesn't seem to be a spot for the pearing knife. I would rather not keep a quality knife rattling around in a drawer that people open and slam. Protect the investment.

Overall, good product for the money. I would tell others to buy these, but I don't feel I will have to after they use ours.

The pictures of the blades on the box show "FRIODUR Ice Hardened" printed on the blades, but none of my knives have that printed on them. It made me wonder if these are a knockoffs, so I went to Zwilling's website and did find this exact knife set on their website. Some of them show it printed and some don't. Everything other than that appears to be legit.

The blades are stamped, not forged. They are obviously not Zwilling's higher end knives, but they are very nice looking and very sharp out of the box. The smaller blades have a thinner tang than the bigger ones and are more flexible. These knives almost appear to be kinda cheap, but I guess time will tell.

In the set they give you 8 steak knives and 1 vegetable utility knife, but the vegetable knife is just a steak knife. It has the exact same part number as the steak knives! Do they think we wouldn't notice? This set does not come with a cleaver but the block has a slot for one.

The block is nicely finished. My only gripe with the block is that it is long and takes up extra space. On my old set, the angled part of the block was more upright and took up about 3 inches less counterspace. Not a huge deal.

Overall, This appears to be a decent set. I plan on doing an update after using them for a while.

Given the price on Amazon you would think something gone south in production? Simply amazing in every way. Sharp. Light weight but sturdy. The build quality is simple perfection. 8 steak knives in the set: 100% identical under a magnifying glass. (Did that because saw other being picky on reviews, although I wouldn’t have cared). But rest assured if you want some serious quality, this is it.

These knives are super sharp. They cut beautifully. It’s nice that they’re little a lighter than our old set. They still feel really sturdy. The set has a good variety of knives. They have maintained their edge so far and haven’t rusted.

I've had these knives for a couple of months now. The look nice and work well. No complaints. My previous set of knives was ruined by the dishwasher, so I am definitely hand-washing these.

I bought these knifes for my brother for a wedding gift and when ever i went over there to use them I had to have a set for myself. These are by far the best purchase for the kitchen I have ever made. I would highly reccomend these knifes, any of the Twin man Henckles!!! You will not be dissapointed!!!!

Paid extra to have a good set of knives, as I wanted them from Germany. The scissors are made in CHINA, not Germany. I think this is false advertising. The German made knives are fine.
