Functional as well as beautiful, this 4-quart saucepot is made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish and has an aluminum core in its base that spreads heat quickly and evenly. The core is completely clad in stainless steel so, like the rest of the pot, the bottom resists corrosion and discoloring and cleans up easily. Thick rolled rims add durability and make it possible to pour from the pan without dripping. Because the pan comes with a domed lid that self-bastes foods it can be used for braising on the stovetop or in the oven. (The handles are oven-safe to 350 degrees F and stay cool on the stovetop.) Nice 4 quart stainless steel pot

I needed a new 4 qt pot as my current pots were teflon coated and they were really scratched up. I decided to go back to the good old days when the pots got coated with oil or butter. I've cooked potatoes in it several times and it cleaned up nicely. I inherited an older style stainless steel pot and when I cook potatoes or something sticky it it, I have to use an SOS pad to get it to come completely clean. I have not had to use the SOS on this pot yet, we will see what happens over time.

I am in my 60s, and received a set of Farberware as a wedding gift in my 20s that I am using to this day. That set included a 3 quart saucepan and a 6 quart Dutch oven, but nothing in between. All of my married life I have been frustrated when I make soup—the 3 quart sauce pan is a little too small, and the 6 quart Dutch oven is too big. After all this time, I finally sat down to look for a 4 quart pan to make soup, as much for my newly married daughters as for me; this has been a big enough issue for me that I wanted to correct it for my girls.

This pan is just perfect, especially for the price! Just the right size for most all of my soup recipes. My Farberware has been a workhorse for me for over 30 years; while I have purchased pieces of much higher priced cookware, I always seem to reach for my Farberware. While other cookware might have fancy bells and whistles, my Farberware is totally adequate for everything that I cook. As much as anything, the designs are well thought out. I guess that’s what you get from a company that has been in business for so many years.

Two thumbs up for the 4 quart sauce pot! Wish I had had this 20 years ago.
