I took a chance on these G614. Boy am I glad that I did!!
Update: After approximately 20,000 miles on the rear axle of the trailer and 27,000 miles on the front axle, these tires are still showing very little wear! The tread compound, is extremely durable. They are wearing very evenly, as well. Outstanding tires. After having ongoing, irregular and FAST wear out of 16 (2 sets) Provider 235/80/16E trailer tires, I decided to start looking for a real solution to these problems. I run a 32' PJ hydraulic dovetail trailer and often times right up to the 10k lb/axle limits. The old Chinese Providers would bulge quite a bit under those loads, even though the loads were within the tires rated weight capacity. I took a chance on these G614. Boy am I glad that I did!! After 9 months and atleast 7k miles of use on the front axle of the trailer, these tires hardly show any wear at all (see picture, compared to the new on the rear axle). They don't bulge at all when I put the same load on them as the Providers. Irregular wear seems to be a thing of the past now, as well. If this keeps up, I'd gladly give them 10 out of 5 stars, even when considering their higher price tag. One really nice perk.... These are made in the USA, by a USA company! Keep these inflated to 110 psi, regardless of the load. They are steel cased and need that pressure.See the pictures for yourself. These are robust and very well engineered tires. Thanks Goodyear & Amazon!

I like others that have wrote a review, have had nightmares with the cheep (made in China) tires that come with RV's. I have a fifth wheel (40') very heavy that came with Goodyear Marathon 235 80 R16 tires.(MADE IN USA) My fifth wheel also has Hydrulic leveling. had two tire failures going on vacation. First one the drivers side going, the other on the passenger side on the way home. When tires failed it also cut my leveling lines steel belts goes every where.(very expensive to have repaired on the road) To make a long story short these G rated 14 ply tires are expensive but are well worth the money. Best investment, and piece of mind.
I did not find out till later, RV manufactures put tires on units for empty weight, these China tires just don't hold up.

Bought these tires (7) for my 45 foot 5th wheel toy hauler. I really wanted a proven tire to replace the “china- bombs” It came with and I felt Goodyear provided that piece of mind. These tires have a flat tread pattern allowing the entire tread to be on the ground giving much better traction where the china-bombs had a rounded tread allowing only about 3-4 inches of rubber on the ground. As an added bonus, my toyhauler seems to track better giving me even more piece of mind. Only down side is these tires are a little pricey but I feel my safety is worth it.

Use these on my rv heavy duty tire and a high price to go with them. Not many 16 inch G rated tires to chose from. Get about 3 years out of them.

If you look on any of the RV forums you will see 100's of horror stories about the cheap Chinese tires the factory puts on blowing out and taking the side off the RV in the process. I read and saw many examples of this on brand new trailers with brand new tires of course. So just about exactly one year ago I took off four new Chinese tires and put these Goodyears on. When I got them it was immediately clear that this is a commercial grade tire. They are heavy ~60lbs. each vs. about half that for the Towmax I took off. As others have said they don't bulge out, squat, or in any way show that they care about the load they are carrying. I am super happy with them.

So the question is.... will you wait until you have a blowout or be proactive and put these on?

The tires are pricey. I think too much but….The ride is unreal. I put these tires on my 5th wheel & it pulls straight & true. No swaying, wag or rocking due to sidewall flex. I can pull 80-90mph on a good clean highway without the fear of fishtailing. I wish to also add, while at the tire shop, when they balanced the tires. The tires were just about plumb. I watched the guy & the machine. He stated “You really don’t need to balance these tires”. However I had them center each tire just for gp. So I guess, in the rehelm of “peace of mind” it may be worth the $1700 I have in the set of 4.

This is an excellent heavy duty tire we use on our Montana 3150RL Fifth Wheeler RV. While pricier than the basic Goodyear tire, we have put a great deal of mileage on these tires without blowouts, poor tread wear, or other issues experienced with the basic Goodyear RV tires. However, need to make sure one has the appropriate wheel to be able to mount these heavier tires. As a side, not all tire dealers will be able to balance these tires because of their heavy nature. If you can find a place, I would recommend a balance. As a result, we were not able to balance the tires but nonetheless have not observed any issues over the past 5 years of significant RVing.
