Works great - a little loud but that's expected
I bought one to keep my garage dry since I have tools out there that would sometimes get spots of rust, just sitting there. Measuring the humidity in there on a typical winter day, I was getting 70-90%.After installing this for a couple days, I saw I was regularly getting 50-60% which is great. I plumbed a drain hose outside so I can run it continuously.I liked it so much I bought a second one to dry out the storage space above the garage which is another 1000 sq. ft. or so. It would get even more humid, and now I'm seeing levels around the 50% level. The attached picture shows the first few hours after I installed it. It started at 65% and then dropped to the low 50's within only 3-4 hours. And that's in a barely insulated space. You can also see how the temp was affected. It does throw waste heat into the air as expected, but it's not too bad. Right now it's winter here so temps outside are in the upper 30's at night, 40's in the day. But you can see how it went from 50F up to only 53F-54F and then seemed to stay steady. In the summer it might be more noticeable, but as others have pointed out, warmer but drier air should actually be more comfortable. I guess I'll found out for sure in a few months (or I may add an AC unit and let that do the drying in the summer months).Overall I'm pretty pleased. The 2nd unit I bought was a refurb so it was a little scary, but both it and the new unit arrived intact. The boxes were beat WAY up, and I can definitely see how others may get a damaged unit. The bottom cardboard piece needs to be extra super duper taped, or they should add some straps. Whatever they're doing now simply doesn't cut it. Fortunately the first unit was delivered by a protective UPS guy who gingerly carried it to my porch and pointed out the poor condition of the box (which he was carrying upside-down by this point, otherwise it would have simply fallen out).

This unit so far is running well and much more quieter than the unit I had to return. No grinding in the compressor has been noticed just a high pitched sound. I give it frequent rests. The box the unit was in , the bottom was cut off and it was put into a different box. I don't understand why this was done, otherwise all is well. As time goes on with this unit I figured out that you must make sure that the hose hookup needs to be checked regularly to ensure that the short hose type hookup that came with the unit is still hooked up to the internal drain nosel that allows it to drain into the resavouar and put the P-2 light to come on is now sending the water into the hose for external draining. That will prevent water from getting on the rug etc.. if it is secure on that nossel. I still am trying to find out how to set the relative humidity. I use 50% and try to keep the area between 45% -50% by turning it off and on as needed until I can figure out how to set it.

I live in the Barracks on a Military base with high humidity, recently and not for the first time they turned our A/C off, with 80% humidity that makes things pretty unpleasent when your room gets up to 80 degrees and thats with the window wide open. I thought this thing would at least make it more tolerable in my room but I was wrong, this thing blows out really hot air, my room went from 77 to 85 with this thing on. On the positive side it works and is very quite even on turbo, not silent but no worse than a moderate size fan, it brought the humidity in my room down from 80% to 31% in only a couple of hours, thats dang good. I do not plan to return it, as I have a black mold problem in my bathroom and this thing can help with that but unless you have good A/C and don't mind paying more in electricity as a result this baby can actually make things worse. Granted I live on the second floor in a very, very small space and this device may be too much for such a small enclosure. Perhapse in a larger space the heat would dissipate better or in a basement but not a tiny phonebooth like I live in. Its heavy but rolls nicely, I haven't tried hooking up a hose yet and probably never will as it does not need to be emptied very often. If I had known about how hot it would make my room I probably wouldn't have bought it but now that I got it I may as well make the best of it.

Arrived undamaged, well packed, and as advertised. It is performing better than I would have imagined. I have a 2800sqft lower level (basement)- all cement. Dampness has always been an issue. In less than 2 days, humidity dropped by 20%. It was actually more humid in the upper level- which was astonishing to me- you could actually tell the difference. If I had enough money I would purchase a second one for the upper level. I should have considered purchasing this unit a long time ago, but I had a bad experience with another brand and just did not think that a unit of that compact size could address a large space. For evacuation of water, I hooked it up initially with a garden hose, and then PVC pipe. It works perfectly-dehumidifying quicker than anticipated. I just received the product, and hope that it will continue to serve as excellently.
The product description was instrumental in my final purchase. The automatic shut-off, and auto-defrosting capability gives me peace of mind that
I can leave it unattended and not worry that the unit will be compromised. The digital panel allows for easy control of features. It operates quite quietly- you would wonder if it is actually working efficiently if not for the impressive output.
Thank you for creating this well made product and offering it at a competitive price. It was an investment, -- but well worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great unit that reliably drains through hose!
Reviewed in Canada on September 26, 2020
Unit works very well. I tried many units over a month and one common problem I had is that even though we had the hose hooked up, a lot of the units drained water in the bucket (albeit slower than with no hose attached) but I wanted something that I didn’t have to empty.

The continuous draining on this when the hose attachment is installed (comes with the unit) works great and the bucket is dry. I’ve been running it in the basement for several months and have not had to empty it. I also compared the efficiency against other units and they both collected the same amount of water over a 24hr period.

Works well, and isn't as noisy as my last dehumidifier. The only thing I do not care for is the hook up for continuous draining. You have to remove the bucket, insert a plastic hose over a tube inside it and then replace the bucket. It would be better if it were an easier connection. I find the flexible plastic tube difficult to remove from the drain pipe.

Read the manual first. After that you’ll be fine. I have it set to 45% humidity and it keeps my garage nice n dry after the snow melts off the vehicles. Much better than a fan. Ran a hose from the unit through the wall into our basement utility room drain and it drains fine. Only time will tell how long it lasts but so far so good.
UPDATE 2020-02-13 last month or so the unit runs quite loudly but still clearing the humidity effectively.
