    What a Joy!
I haven't done anything with Legos since I was a kid. I'm 42 now and when I saw this on amazon, I quickly bought it. What a joy to build this. First time I have seen Lego number the bags which made it easy to build. The detail on it is crazy good. It dominates my room and I find my self constantly looking at it. It IS WELL WORTH the price. Some notes.Get your self some zip lock bags. It as many small pieces so if you don't build it in one day, its a good idea to separate the pieces and put them in bags.Follow the directions and ONLY open the bags for which step you are on! Book tells you what bag number to use for the portion of the build you are on.Most important. Get super glue. though you are not meant to play with this beauty, while building it and handling it, I found some parts would come off. So I got super glue and didn't have that worry anymore.Again it is well worth the price, and it makes for a awesome display!

The level of surface detail relative to the 2002 Star Destroyer release (≈3,000 pieces) is stunning. Unlike some other Star Wars ships, the Star Destroyer really lends itself to the Lego treatment. The stubs, which I normally do everything possible to hide, add a texture to the surfaces that stands in well for the tiniest details, while the regular Lego-scale detail pieces bring amazing, movie-like realism where a purely clean, flat surface would appear lacking (very little in the Rebellion era of Star Wars is clean, pure, and flat).

The stand is well designed, if a bit on the shaky side, for tabletop display. Unfortunately for me, I don't have a consistent 2' x 3.5' tabletop space to display it. My solution will be to hang it in my stairwell, and this will require filling in some blank spaces where the stand supports currently reside. Fortunately, it does have a deliberate "handle" right at its central balance point to which I can attach several wires for hanging.

The overall form is very much look-but-don't-touch. It's extremely delicate, featuring numerous large body panels that seem barely held in place by a few clips and gravity. It's a necessary compromise -- anything more solid at this scale would risk collapsing under its own weight -- but it's hard to escape the impression that I spent $700 on a mostly hollow plastic shell.

This is not a knock against the engineering and design. On the contrary, I think the design and planning that clearly went into it are masterful. Brilliant use of existing pieces (no new pieces were created, only one had to be recast in grey), and a build approach that shows deep three-dimensional thinking. Lego's engineering team are geniuses.

This is also not a knock against it being very much a "display only" build, rather than a playable build. At my age, I just want to display these beauties, and I often don't even build out the playable interiors.

Finally, this is a great addition to the recent iconic ship releases from Star Wars. The Tantive IV (75244) has the distinction of being the very first ship we saw in Star Wars (on movie screens in 1977). But it was this ship, second to be seen, the Imperial Star Destroyer DEVASTATOR, swelling endlessly to fill the entire theater, that literally caused audience mouths to drop open. It was the ultimate cinematic OMG moment that grabbed us and held us for the next 2+ hours -- and 40+ years.

Thank you George Lucas, and thank you Lego.

When building this have some experience building other large sets. Some parts seem to loose for my liking. There is part that still drops off. Tips: build it where you are to show ir off. This heavy.
In conclusion it is awesome build. It would relax me as I did each section. The manual is also big and has interesting iwriting by the creators. I love but but I don’t know if it is really sturdy to and worry that was due my experience level

Hats off lego this was a fantastic set to build got this for my birthday and I must say it was fantastic I will say the upper plates are a bit flimsy especially when putting them into the frame that was a bit of a hassle but once that was done is was easy for the rest to build

Ok. So, we bought this set for my son at the onset of COVID... he was 9 at the time. I'd do alot of the setup and supervision and he did most of the building. All in all, this set took him (us) a good long while - maybe two months of picking at it.

I recently had to deconstruct it down to step 14... he accidentally flipped two of the support pieces and it became unstable and fell. The stand is built into this set, so make sure your pieces are securely connected. I'd say to "Kragle" them, but if you mess up, yikes! Only took a few hours of disassembly, it comes apart in big chunks.

This set is absolutely massive. I hope you have an awesome space to display it, not something to ever tear apart, and it was pretty complex to build. This is the second UCS Lego he's done. We did the Death Star already and now that this is fixed proper... the Falcon is on deck!

Highly recommend, these are so much fun and super impressive when completed!

Took my teen kids and a week to build this a few hours at a time. The Lego engineers seriously blew us away with the detail, and excellent directions. I thought it was overpriced even for Legos before I got it, but after putting this together I see why it’s priced the way it is. Really impressed. We had a great time and made great memories. Can’t wait to make it the centerpiece for our May 4th marathon.

I obviously knew this was going to be a big set. The detail is great and it was a nice build it once the frame was built and the top and bottom body plates were being placed I realized the sheer size of the set. Definitely worth it just make sure to have plenty of space to display and build it. The stand could also be a little more sturdy I found the ship would sway back and forth in a way.

Loved this set. Very good quality, fun to build. Very good price. There was one piece missing while an extra of a similar one (I checked if I used the piece in place of the other, but it was not the case). Contacting customer service put the missing piece in the mail in a few days.
